Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community.
You should not have to remove the Supercharger to reach either of the knock sensors to replace.

Knock/Ping Sensor Replacement
Thanks guys. Truth be told I'm really struggling replacing the knock sensor (wiring harness). I am a beginner with Mini's but have mostly maintained and repaired our cars over the last 20 years. Engine light came on, code knock sensor, checked and wire was chewed in half by stupid pack rat. Bought the part on-line, clip on top easy enough but other end after pulling the front apart, piece by piece is under the intake manifold. Struggling pulling that off. Did not find a relative article on this anywhere. Any help/advice would be helpful. BTW 02 S, R53 I believe correct? -
This article on SC maint may be of some help.
