Purchased my 2005 Mini Cooper S July 3rd this summer. It's my first "new to me" car ever and I'm loving it. Good power, great gas mileage, good looks, and good handling. It's british racing green with a white roof, exactly the color I wanted. I've been at Racecomp Engineering/GTWorx for 5 years where we specialize in suspension and brakes for Subaru Impreza (with some Mitsu EVO work in there too). There's always more to learn on suspension design and I try and stay up to date on as much as I can. I'm part time there now, full time at the US Geological Survey, and also in grad school. So I don't think I'll be developing Mini parts any time soon. I may try to set-up a Mini page on our site, but we'll see (need to make some phone calls!). Glad to be here! Now I need wheels. And a 15% pulley. And IE Fixed Camber Mounts. And a motor mount. - Andrew
Congrats on the Mini. Looks like your on the right track for your first set of Mods. However, remember that once you start you will not be able to stop.
^ heh, i'll do my best. i do mostly water science and mapping myself but i'll keep my ears open. does anyone ever sell their OEM 05-06 adjustable rear lower control arms? i think i just missed the build date for those on my car and could use a little adjustability. how little negative camber can you get at stock ride height with them? the neverending questions begin...time to start searching  - Andrew
Welcome Andrew - and I have a set if you are looking for some (lower control arms) Hook me up with some beer money and shipping and they are all yours LOL
^ sweeeeet! i'll send you a PM. i wonder if i can get rear camber down to -1.5, but i'll be happy just being able to get it even left to right. maybe i'll add some poly bushings too. - drew
well that would be nice. i guess i'll try and go a little lower, but most importantly try to keep it even. - drew
Welcome Andrew! Skip the IE plates....get the Vorschlags (or better yet, get Myles to make some for the MINI). Otherwise your mod list is USDA Grade A....the core things. Like a Cobb DP/AP combo for the EJ255/7
Hey PGT! And what's your name anyway? I definitely like the Vorshlag plates....but the fixed IE mounts will do. Rubber and a fixed moderate increase in camber is good enough for the price they are and how broke I am. For now. When I do my coilovers (KW or JRZ if i'm feeling baller) the Vorhslags will definitely go on. - Andrew
It's Dan. I just had a bad experience with IE's adjustable plates...I guess the fixed plates can't be as bad given their simpler design.
