    Sorry I can't help, I'm a R53 guy. So I'll give you a bump. Some one will be along that can help.
    I would not run it till I know your cams are timed correctly. If not you run the risk of binding a valve.

    Sorry I know little about the French MINI engines. I'd get it to someone who knows them. Not doing so could become quite costly. If you tell us where you are someone may be able to point you to a good shop.

    Yeah...it is an interference motor...bad timing means new valvetrain...maybe a new motor...
    I'm guessing if you did not lock the cams....time to get it towed...so the timing can be set...
    I am a gen1 guy...but sounds like it is not good.

    Ok I won't run it. I live in San Jose, CA. Would be nice to know a shop that excels in mini's other than the dealer hopefully a bit cheaper too
