Call up Keith at Werkin Mini
he did an excellent "how to" that's on NAM and listed some parts that will do the job. I think there were NAPA units, but don't remember exactly.

Are you using one like this?
-
minidave: yes, that was the kind i was trying to use but mine was too short.
Well i didn't get anything done this weekend, it has rained all day.
So i am going to go on a hunt for the proper separator this week.
If not i guess i will pull the cv joints like 002 on NAM recommends doing the fcab with out dropping the subframe or maby ill just drop the subframe while i do struts and springs.
Does anyone know if it is possible to cut the old fcab out? i was going to cut a slit or two with a hacksaw and hammer it out, will this work?

You can get the old FCAB off with a three jaw puller -- there are a couple of examples with pictures in the MA Library:

thanks for the how to.
i never though of looking at the 2nd gen stuff.
lowering the subframe looks like a better solution than dropping it and easier than popping the axles, or ball joints.
Hopefully i can get this done with struts and springs this weekend.
