even if you change the tensioner, if the guides are shot you have no hope of getting it to stop.
Run the car at idle with the belt off see if the noise continues, if so it would be a internal problem.
While you have the belt off, spin check all the pulleys.
Make sure if you run the car with the belt off, you have a pin through the tensioner strap to keep it from touching the crank pulley at all.

Welcome to MA!
What sethat46 said. I would start with a new belt, belt tensioner and idler pulley first. Also check your crank pulley, make sure the rubber does not have any cracks in it.
Some people change the belt and tensioner once a year.-

Push in your clutch....and see if it goes away...
A throwout bearing rattle can sound like it is coming from the SC area...-

Get rid of the screamin demon coil packs unless you want to take the chance of frying your ECU. The OME one is good for big HP numbers.
Your Mini looks good.-

Thought I'd update on this. I've did a supercharger snout rebuild. Found one of the bearings to be in rough condition. Swapped all 3 bearings out, new seal and new coupler. Knocking snd grinding Sound reduced significantly
