I'm in complete agreement your runflats have timed out. There is no way to look at them & tell if they are still safe to use.

The size you have chosen IMO is perfect for your MINI. Of the 3 tires you have listed I'd go with the Continental DWS.

Read the reviews on Tire Rack to find out if this tire is quiet enough for you. Keep in mind that ant tire will get loud if you do not rotate it enough.

Buy yourself a Slime Spare Tire kit. It includes a compressor & some plugs & fix a flat. You can pick it up at Wally World. You probably won't need it, but it is a good thing to have on hand.

 

The DWS's are a nice tire, but if you don't need the snow capability look at the DW's.

 

If you are going to hibernate, don't waste money on the all-seasons, go with a summer tire. Your sway bar will love you for it.

Depends where the OP lives. If they drive in cold but clear weather summer tires don't work well & can be dangerous.

 

I've run the DSW for a couple of years and like them a lot. Great snow/ice traction and plenty of performance for the type of driving I do. Last summer I purchased a set of Konig Feathers and had the DW's installed. Good dry/wet performance, but a bit noisier. Both of these tires have been around for a while. so I'm sure there's some out there with newer "technology", but the Conti's seem to give alot of value for $$$ spent.

 

I think you will be happy with those. Keep in mind you will need some miles on them to scrub them in. Brand new tires feel a might squirmy.

 

I'm ordering a set of the Michelin pilot A/S 3 next week for my MINI. I'm putting the conti DWS on my Q7.

 

I've been happy with the DSWs they have lasted a while and are quite. I've had a bit different P7 version in the past. Performance was great but they didn't last long.

When the DSWs are done I'll be going with a 3 season tire. I have a separate winter set.

 

I've had a set of P Zero Nero tires. They worked well when new, once the new wore off they were terrible, very prone to hydroplaning.

 

I just ordered these last week for my GTI. How have you liked them so far?

 

If you store your MINI in the Winter and do not drive it at all get a good set Summer tires and skip the "All season" tires. The are pall just ok but good at nothing.

Dunlop Star Specs and Michelin Super Sports are excellent. Conni DW's are only ok once you have drove a car hard on Dunlops or Michelins I listed.

I have had about 10 different tires and may of the ones listed above and the only tire I have bought a second time was the Dunlop Star Specs which are currently on my car.

 

I've run 205/55/R16. The little bit of extra sidewall never hurts. Plus, it helps to bring the speedo error down a bit.

The 205/50 will make it a bit worse, iirc, they are touch smaller than the 195/55.

 

I just bought a set of the new Potenza RE 71 R. With a UTQG of 200 A A they feel like erasers. It's hard to find Extreme Summer Tires in 215/40 18 so when these were released a few weeks ago I jumped on them.

 

When I ran 205-50-16s on my MINI the GPS indicated a speedo error of +3 MPH. That was close enough for me.
