Only thing I can think of is have her take care of it just like you take care of yours under the bonnet and wheel wells then add RaggTopp or 303 to the mix and a good shop vac for cleaning out leaves and other debris. You can share with her my 4 criteria for putting up the canvas and disregard #4.
    1. It's raining
    2. It's snowing
    3. Some drunks are throwing empty beer cans in the back seat and didn't invite me
    4. My co-pilot is whining louder than the SC about it's too hot or too cold.

I don't have any insights on the blanket, I just have a hood scoop protecting heat sheild glued to the inside of the bonnet.

As for the DV - I have one of those and love it. I've seen elsewhere on these boards where the plastic OEM DV can disintegrate and get sucked into the turbo, so that sounded bad.

The GFB DV does reduce some of the sound of the air going in and out (if that matters), but that's because it allows less pressure to escape and keeps the boost up. I feel it's worth it.
