I had decided to go with the Continentals or the Nitto. We have one dealer in town for the Nittio. He told me it would take two weeks to get them. There were two dealers that could get Continentals. One wanted 189 each and the other 179 each. I thought they were out of there heads if they thought I would pay that price. Wish I had time for Tier Rack.

Frist impression of the Bridgestone tire is good. It had just stopped sleeting when I drove home. The streets were wet overpasses were starting to build ice.
In the wet the grip was good.

I took my son out to let him feel the antilock brakes. But he had trouble getting them to fire because the MINI stopes so fast. He said compared to the Mustang the MINI stopes, steers, and is faster then his old car. He had a V6.

    I have lost my car.:cryin:

:cornut: A real love/hate relationship. Love your son in a better safer car but hate losing the MINI. Having done the correct Father type thing don't worry, something will come along.

If you go with the Nittos, I'm sure you will like them. While the 280 treadwear seems that the tires will wear quickly, they are a nice-wearing tire and provide the nice things of a summer tire while still being an all season tire. The ride is comfy and the tires grip well when needed, plus they have a high temp rating. I have them on my 15" holeys right now [for late Spring, summer and early Fall use] and plan to put them on my R84 16" v-spokes when the Kumho ASXes wear out. I like them THAT much.

I have two others that already do that. The forth will be driving in a year and half. All I do on days off is fix cars and buy gas. The gas station owner down the street already profess his love for me.

Glad your son and everyone is OK.

I need to replace 2 summer tires on my '08 Cooper S, replacing the original Dunlop Sports. I have a set of 4 tires for winter, so only need a summer tire, not an all season. The Kumho Ecsta get decent reviews. I can wait the two weeks to replace if I have to order, so not in a rush. Any other suggestions? Most important to me is LOW road noise.

    Thanks!
