    Sorry I was just meaning that some dealers may not program a key not purchased from them. As far as I know all Cooper S's had the option for keyless entry, so all you would need is the key.

    I would say keys are least of my worries but this car is for my daughter so I need a key of some kind.

    Nearest dealer is Memphis I will do some more research on it I still have a while before she takes control of the car I'm actually enjoying working on it. Thanks for your input I do appreciate it.

    MA is a great resource for most any issue you may have with your MINI. The Library is full of great how to's and info. Oh and Welcome!

    You can still check out eBay. MINI keys do come up on there occasionally and getting one reprogrammed and cut might not be as bad as buying a new one. BTW, the early model keys ARE the last one in that column...much fatter and rounder.
