they kind of gamed the system for the test. They had Bristol all to themselves to run the car at a constant speed of 30 or so MPH. But still, I'd never think that there was any way to get over 750 miles from a single tank in that car!
The V6 you had was an automotive dinosaur. The new engine is pretty sweet. While the 412 HP in the new V8 is tempting, over 300 from a 3.7L V6 is pretty sweet too, and the car has better balance. When there are aftermarket turbos for it, it could be a sleeper that really screams!

Ford has a strong footing in Europe making cars that get good mpg and performance. I saw a lot of them on several tours to Germany. I have a high school buddy who reiently retired from the upper management part of Ford and I asked him why these designs never made it to the U.S. He said to just wait and watch.
