[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3AaElfqBbM]B-Spec MINI Cooper - Inaugural Grand Am Homestead Race - YouTube[/ame] I mounted my GoPro HD Hero2 in the Fast Toys Inc. B-Spec MINI race car (driven by Bruce Hollander) for the inaugural Grand Am B-Spec race at Homestead-Miami raceway, and finally got around to editing it down to the highlights. The weather was unbelievable... as you can see in the video. Enjoy!
Holy crap that was nasty! That MINI really loves driving on the grass, I think it wants to be a rally car. :biggrin5: Thanks for posting, very cool.
Ha.. yeah, he went off course 4 times total, I believe... as did every car in the race. Actually, the guy whose MINI broke in the first turn may not have gone off-track :biggrin5: There was a bunch of standing water in the first turn series and nearly every single car went off in that turn at least once, some more than once. Then, at the end of the other straight into the hairpin that goes back onto the banking, it looks from the video like Bruce probably couldn't see the corner in time to brake enough due to the rain and the fogging up of the windshield.
Thanks for posting the video, nicely done. Rain in biblical per-portions. I love the rain, but man that standing water was just waiting to catch you out. Hope we can get more videos over the course of the season.
Yeah, some rain makes it interesting, but standing water? That's crazy! They probably would have helped in Turn 1/2
