YAY!
I battled dustbunnies :blush2: and itty-bitty glass shards..but...
I
FOUND
THE
KEYFOB!!!
I'm guessing that when they were tossin' the room, it fell onto the floor and got kicked under my desk to the far-reaching back corner (hence all the dustbunnies)...
I am relieved!

Sorry....I meant that since they do have the key that the alarm won't really do any good. -

Very sorry to hear about this happening. Your number one concern right now is identity theft, and you must move quickly or it can wreak havoc. It sounds like they have some very sensitive information that may allow them to open loans and credit cards in your name.

Instant credit isn't an option, ever. If someone were to attempt to apply for instant credit, I receive a phone call for verification...at that point, the person(s) pretending to be me would be caught on camera and if store security moves quickly, the person(s) would be taken to the back office.
If store security doesn't make it in time, the application has the person(s) fingerprints on it.
Same thing holds true for loans, student loans, etc.
If they try to obtain credit cards via mail, they'll fail because my "address of record" is NOT my residential address and if any application comes through for a different address, it is automatically denied.
Many people do not realize that they can contact the big three credit reporting agencies and have the same type of lockdown placed on their account. It's a proactive measure, but it WILL save you lots of frustration in the long run.
