3.5 here in Virginia. Wind chill minus 6. Ruby, my Shihtzu, did her business in 5 minutes flat. Usually takes 15. A smart little dog. Minis resting in heated garage, oblivious to the cold.

It was so cold this morning that when I started my R56 it immediately popped up the yellow engine light then after a few seconds it went to red and it started to die and the RPMs fluctuated up and down rather erratically. I revved it for a few seconds then turned it off. Debated calling off today, but decided to try to start it again and it started without issue the second time. Dunno WTF was going on, but I hope it doesn't continue.

It's so cold that for the entire drive in this morning (11 miles) my Sprinter Van (Mercedes 5 cylinder Diesel) did not get hot enough to make warm air in the cab.

I should have read this thread first before starting my other one.
Took about 20 minutes of warming for it to go away. Glad I'm not the only one. -
-4 so far today. Sally Jo slept in the SO's garage last night; which is not heated but way better than my apartment parking lot. Yesterday morning my tires were frozen in..I haven't had any problems with starting or going anywhere other than at lunch yesterday my low tire pressure light came on. I'll monitor it but will not put air in until later this week once it's warmer.
I have carried a blanket with me in my bag even though my commute is literally 3 mins, totally going to use the heated seat to warm it up!! -

I had to rev the engine at about 2000rpm for it to stay running.
I also got the "the cruise control isn't working" light (had to look that one up) and once I was driving got the "the tyre pressure warning system isn't working" light. That one was labeled.
I'm putting heaters in the garage tonight. -

My metal not plastic water line in my garage froze and burst. WTF its inside:mad2:
The moron builders put the insulation behind the pipe in the wall and left the pipe right against the drywall to the garage. :mad5:
No worries the plumber is here fixing it now so its not a big deal just pissed me off.
Oh and the garage waterline shutoff was in the ceiling of a closet completely dry walled over so I had no way to turn off the water without shutting down the whole house.
At least I have an access panel now. -

Skooby was kind of grumpy when I started her this morning. Tire nanny flashed for a second or two, but responded to my cursing & turned off. No other lights & full speed justa power ahead. Man I love seat heaters.

I think we hit 62 degrees yesterday. I turned on the furnace for the first time in over a month. (on the coast, south of San Francisco)

It dipped down to 6° here in central North Carolina over night. Keep in mind there was no precipitation and the skies are clear. Grocery stores are out of milk and bread and schools and businesses are actually closed today in fear of the cold. I'm not joking.

It's a quite balmy 5.2 degrees here now. I wish the wind machine would stop.

Cold enough that I'm thinking of heading South to help unstick that boat in Antarctica just for the warmer weather.

It was cooler in the morning and when your job consists of sitting in front of a desk and not moving for hours, a bit of heat is a good thing.
