Yea it's been a long time since this part of the country had snow in November. Winter might be long and dreadful if this is a sign of what is to come!
Drove the family to Apple Hill this past weekend and it must've been about 55º when we arrived in the morning. My toes felt like they were going to freeze off in my Chuck Taylors and there were women running around in sandals... Yep, I'm a weenie when it comes to the cold...
Yeah, it's on its way to us too...70 today, 21 tonite! Glad I got the furnace filter changed and the Aprilaire serviced.
Actually in my iceberg, it is sitting on 5 degrees. And I have to fly out in the morning, going to be sucky... sucky I say!
Spring has sprung, fall has fell. Winter's here, it's cold as he!! 30 + degree drop in about 6 hours and another 15 to go before tonight's low forecast of 25° Depending on the wind tomorrow golf may or may not happen. The top is staying down regardless.
Looking at the current weather map it looks like Al Gore is driving across the upper mid west and Great Lakes today. Taking the ferry across Lake Michigan.
It's a humidifier that attaches directly to the furnace, it gets so dry in the winter that the wife complains about static electricity and wayward hair, not to mention dry skin, wood paneling that wants to crack, doors that won't open or close amongst other things. A $160 humidifier fixes all that. I bought the fancy model that monitors outside temps, inside humidity levels and so on and adjusts the amount of water that way. 70* yesterday, 25 last night with a wind chill of 14 - it's not supposed to even hit 40 for the next two weeks.....it might not crest 40 again til next March! Where are all those wonderful 65* Thanksgiving days we used to have? Oh yeah, global warming....I forgot.:arf:
At some point in that life it no longer becomes 'how cold is it' but rather 'how the he!! long will it stay this cold?'.
