The last vestige of Boston's record winter snowfall - a heap of filthy snow in a parking lot near the harbor - melted under a hot July sun on Tuesday July 14, leading the governor of Massachusetts to declare the end of the city's winter "nightmare."
Winter 2016 has arrived! Woke up to temps of about 5F today. Had to put on a long sleeve T-shirt today Yikes!
That won't cut it if you choose the North Florida setting . 40 this AM and only 60 now. Oh well, guess I'll have to console myself with the knowledge that it will be in the low 70s on Saturday.
Not bad today - mid 50's - after the teens last night. But it will be cold again before it's over.......
It's Winter, it's cold accept it. If you want it warm all the time move to Southern Florida a.k.a Gods waiting room.
Heck lows of 40 & highs of 60 would be just fine. We hit 47 today & all the slop is melting from the roads. Until the next blast of winter. :shovel:
Hi folks, -15 F in Minneapolis this morning. -5 or so was the high temp and heading back to -17 overnight. Even had to put slippers on to take out the recycling and play a bit with the dogs. I love the way things sound during frigid weather. Creaking noises the snow makes when walked or driven on, and the jet airplane engine sounds as they are rending the air. Smartwool socks and a Minus33 quarter zip is the ticket!
^^^ I would travel to Minneapolis on business in my former life.... And I do remember the biting cold and the wet leather dress shoes without fondness.... The "crunchy" snow and my hands getting stuck to the door pull on the rental car on my first trip.... Gloves and boots were purchased in the Twin cities the very next day.... Anyway it's 3F here this morning in Columbus with a windchill of -10 to -15F..... Not the same as Minneapolis, but similar.. Stay warm papa-j, and you can have my share of lutefisk.... I made Swedish meatballs yesterday.... And I'm not sharing those...:drool
It was cold enough yesterday to take the Rat for a run up Flagstaff mountain in Boulder... Even got some heat in the tires and only got flashed by one Sheriff's deputy, and maybe 2 park rangers...
Heavy rain on the way home for the first time in a while, and, surprise!, no one seems to remember how to drive in rain.
