This might work...

 

Have you seen mine?...

Just put it above and to the right of the rear view. Added a tiny piece of the rough side of velco to hold it to the headliner and tucked the radar bracket sans suction cups up above the headliner

Wire it to the sunroof harness (you probably have it still) and viola, it comes on and turns off with the car and you never have to worry about it

 

I used the visor clip and slide it over the front edge of the headliner, to the right of the rear view mirror.

 

I remote mounted my V1, as they allow for this. It is hanging off the headliner in the rear of the car, pics in my garage.

This, but to the left of the mirror so that it is easier to reach. I don't mind having it (V1) directly in my field of view.

 

I use a VEI V1 remote display. Fits in a gauge pod so it's always in my field of view.

used the V1 suction mounts and tucked it up over the driver's side of the rear view. It's hard-wired thru the headliner to the fuse panel in the passenger kick panel.

 

That is very nice! Did you take pics as you did it? How did you do that?

 

It's a Cravenspeed flexpod. The gauge just slips in. Not much to see. Plugs into the power block for the V1.

 

Think of how much money and antagonism you'd save yourself via the simple expedient of not speeding on the road?

I don't spend money on radar detectors, I don't spend money on tickets and I don't spend money on insurance surcharges, to name a few....this leaves a lot more time and money for competition brake pads, tires and road course fees.......works for me.....

 

Wow good for you, so you never speed? Where I'm from they have speed traps all over, so it's not like they give you a chance.

 

Mines mounted on a Craven speed braket also, but how did you insert it into the gauge pod? It must be a 62mm pod? I'm using both the remote display and sound unit.

 

I have a Valentine, and I hard wired and installed under my rear view mirror, using this, Mirror Radar Mount for the Valentine-1 Radar Detector, but there are more out there as well. I like the look.

 

Which one did you get? The mini 5/8 adjustable? I have mine to the right side of the mirror as well with the suction cup mount, the power cable is run up into the headliner, down the a-post to remote power and the V1 remote display attached on column just in front of tach.

 

They have them here too, but I use my cruise control to keep me out of trouble.

Actually, I don't. I mean sure, your speed creeps up 1 or 2 on a downhill, but out on the hiway it just doesn't pay. I guess I'm just not in that much of a hurry, unless I'm on the track!

 

So you use your cruise control in town....hmm...... not very safe? Dude we are just trying to see how people mount their detectors. Fine that you don't have one but we do, cool?
