How early should I book a room?

I received an email last week there were very few rooms left at the Lodge.....

Thanks for all of the info. I have the time off for this next year, so I am a definate. Is the lodge the best place to stay?

 

Anywhere in Fontana Village is the place to be.

 

anyone know anything about the cabanas? I have one reserved but have never stayed there....any insight?

 

I believe those are those units adjacent to the pool by the lodge. If that is the case, I stayed there this year and they were great.

 

Yeah, according to the map they are directly across from the lodge, with the pool in the middle. I figured with the pool just outside the front door, it would keep the gf amused for a few days...if its not freezing.

 

I have stayed in them twice. They are nice, but not much bigger than the lodge rooms. The back door opening up to the pool deck is nice, and WiFi reaches the rooms. Having said that, I'm not sure that they are worth almost twice the price. I will be staying downstairs from the cabanas this year, just about the same room sans the back door.
