Glad your going to remod your car. Hope you like it. I'm sure it will be good. I'm pretty much done spending money on mine, maybe some seats, BBK. All my fun money is now going into my road bike, approaching $10k there  Have a good one

Thats the way to do it Kitty. The good stuff costs more, but you wont be redoing it again later.

    The MINI isn't for everyone.

I tell people all the time, if you want something 100% reliable and cheap/easy to maintain buy a Honda.
If you want something fun to drive buy a MINI.

I'm not sure if modding falls under maintenance, but my exhaust was done for 2 reasons. The OEM one was rusted out, and I wanted a better one.

    Nate,

Reminding people how much they have gone and spent modifying these econo boxes might not be a good idea. Specially for those of us with two of them.

Wow, you set the bar really high if up to $5,000 only qualifies as "I've done a bit"!

I've got a Way pulley, front and rear sway bars, rear end links, shocks, struts and a Way tune, plus a few other little things. I'd say that's more than a bit!

Sure hope this poll is anonymous -- I could get in big trouble if a certain lady found out.

Most of my more expensive mods were done when the OEM stuff wore out, instead of just to do them (upgrade brakes, exhaust).

The cost divided out over almost 8 years is pretty cheap for me..

It is anonymous, I'm not about to go digging in the database.

This can lead to good also, you can point to the poll and show how deranged others are with the massive amounts spent making your $1K set of wheels look like a $0.99 Slurpee when queried by the other half.
