    Money For Mods

    $2k for performance mods and (I'm ashamed to say) $1k for Eye Candy/Bling as the kids say. I didn't even realize how much that I had spent until Nathan brought it up. :eek6::frown2: Thanks Nathan. But ya know, Mini Margi is well worth it. Most fun car that I've ever owned.:Thumbsup: Jason

    IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT NATHAN!! When I started adding up the damage, I quit in a panic after 5min. It was starting to look like Beelzebub might fall under that classic definition of a yacht: "A hole in the ocean you pour money into." LMAO :devil:

    I'll have to try very hard not to think about this. I don't really want to know, I do know it's been waaaayy too much. I've said all along CHEQQRS doesn't need more - well, anything. Yet, I can hardly stop myself (check out my profile). I want a BBK in the worst way. Why? Because ...

    :blush2::eek6:WOW(!)since you are courageous enough to admit on this site, in front of God and every one, that you smoke in your Mini ;I fess up also.There are strength in numbers. When they come for us,I've got your 6.:Thumbsup:

    :Thumbsup::Thumbsup:ME TOO. ME TOO!
    Jason

    :D The numbers on this pole show that 100% of us have bought something after market for our Minis. The majority of us have spent between $1-5k.I guess that it can be safely said that Mini owners as a group love and enjoy their cars.

    OK Twisty, I'll bite although I'm frightened to ask. What's a "BBK"? Might as well retaliate while here. Somewhere some fiend posted a pic and address of Robin Casady's wood shifter knobs and brake handles. DON'T EVEN GO THERE!! :devil:

    OMG, I swallowed my own bait! After checking Casady's site 17doz. times, I ordered one of his knob and handle sets: the Amboyna burl and African Blackwood one. Get the eBrake handle this week and he's making the knob right now. Takes TWO WEEKS from start to finish! Those pics in his site are the actual item you buy. The knob I ordered had just been stolen by some low life in Canada, so Robin's making me one with even better figure in the burl wood. Take that Darth Vader! BTW, if the price sounds steep, compare it to a Whalen Shift Machine. For $20 more you something truly unique instead of a 2lb chunk of CNC milled stainless steel. Besides, the "devil" made me do it! :smilewinkgrin:
    PS: You're gett'in pics whether you want'em or not. :devil:

    I'm still in the $1-$1k when it comes to mods specifically added to the MINI because it's still pretty new and I've diverted money to the GoProHD camera and Track Days fund, but I'd be feeling like many of you guys if I added up the money I've spend on my Mustangs. :)

    Getting close to the "I've done a lot" category :crazy:! Got Robin Casady's eBrake handle and shift knob (Post #70) yesterday and nearly went into shock when I saw and touched them. AWESOME :Thumbsup:!! Rather than make me wait 2 weeks while he made a new knob, he gave me one from his personal collection. The guy's totally cool. Besides the stunning looks, the feel of the knob is perfect. Much better than any after market knob I've handled. Forget the aluminum, SS and CF junk. Put some real class in your MINI and continue on to the "I've done a lot" bunch, LOL. Here's the pics I threatened you with. :devil:
