All connections are solid and I've been putting dielectric grease on all electrical connection for decades. If it was a bad connection, wouldn't that light have come on right away, not +150mi. down the road? That's what's bugging me. :frown2:
By pure dumb luck I think I found out why the worn brake pad warning light came on after 150mi. Apparently when you install a new sensor w/new pads, the ECU has to be told it's new so it can re-set the service interval. Is this true and can the dealer do it w/o a full re-map? Thanks!
Maybe I had even dumber luck because I did not reset the service interval and no brake warning light.....
I found a 3yr old thread on NAM that showed how to reset the change interval for brake pads when new sensors are installed. Took this klutz 3-4 tries to get right, but that dumb light is now gone for 36K. Found some other things hiding in there, too. Like the actual build date for my MINI: 12-13-07. Now I know the exact date to give him a neat B-Day mod! LOL
Get ready for more aches and pains! To prove how big a masochist I am, I just ordered EBC Sport rotors for the rear. This time I think I'm better prepared, but be ready for more swearing, screaming and blood loss. LOL (maybe) ut:
Just wait to drink mass quantities after the job. Refrain from consumption during any surgical procedures... :beer
Got the rear rotors today and they go on in the AM. Got lots of band-aids and a tourniquet on standby just in case. Sorta LOL! ut:
Right sides done with no problem except getting the old rotor off. Sorta frozen after +3yrs and 50K. A 5lb dead hammer persuader made it change it's mind. Now for the left side. This is going too smooth and I'm starting to get nervous. Haven't even used any of my stockpiled medical supplies YET!
