Just take the rubber inlet hose off and hold the center of the turbine, it should spin freely but you should not be able to move it in and out or up and down. if there is any movement other than spinning freely, the turbocharger is bad. Do not do this when the engine is hot!
I think I've told you this same thing in another post, maybe you should write it down. -
