Well I was inspired by this thread & spent 5 hours in the garage cleaning Skooby. Even cleaned the little French engine. Shines like a new penny now. Babs is happy with her clean MINI & I'm tuckered out. Sunday I clean the interior.

Judging from the content of the shelves you are serious about this. Good for you and the wife... [I am assuming]-

Do you ever watch Larry's videos? He owns AMMO [NYC] and I find him really concise and detailed.[You Tube]
He is also always replying to questions one might have and actually how can he find the time?!
On another subject, while here, I landed in Philadelphia 50 years ago this month from France where I was born and lived for 21 years... [don't hold against me! we have beautiful women, cheese and bread... no French Fries though! I don't know where that come from]
City Line, Upper Darby, Wynnwood and even briefly on Rittenhouse Square and New Jersey... No knowing the language, while even having my Diploma from four years of Culinary in Switzerland, I was an errand boy [?] for Stouffers. I don't know if they are still around. Great skiing at Camelback and more! Those were the days... Miss the food of course! There is NO FOOD here... unless I make it! Which I do...-

In the meantime I am thinking about this design for a front "vinyl wrap"! 2~3 times a week I drive the mountain roads being the only purpose of this car. [I am retired].
And this is the result per...
Overall, on the detailing aspect of a car, just my humble opinion, I try to achieve a "happy medium". There are so many factors involved the primordial one being to "drive the car" and enjoy it!!! Isn't it the reason I personally have it? Yes...
One factor being I have carports and no garage. Another one is living at the foothill of the New Mexico Sacramento Mountains and yet being in Desert weather. One more is the water here. The National average of mineral content in the water is 3~4, the National chart goes up to 14, Alamogordo is... 40 to 60!!! You want water spots? Come and wash your car here! You will never be fast enough to dry it, even with a blower, and not leave those nasty spots. Luckily we have a filtered water brush-less car wash... my savior and shade to finish drying it. I cannot wash my cars at home!
So the point that I am trying to make is to enjoy driving the car regardless... and not keeping it as a show car, covered and tucked away avoiding rain which I do not. A funny thing is, when I am driving it, dirty or not, it is the same car, the same enjoyment and perpetual smile!
It is clean maybe twice a month! For 20 minutes? It is detailed as I used Menzerna products as personally I will not get into the ceramic coatings aspects.
Maybe I am too old to have such a car sitting on a pedestal to only look at it and miss the enjoyment of driving it as much as I can... dirty or not! I have never been one to have show cars to impress others by their shiny reflections.
Again, it is only my humble opinion and lifestyle.
*** At the front bottom? It is not a bird... those are our "bugs"!!!

Enjoy your car as you like it. Dirty or clean. The people who like to keep their cars looking great are doing it for themselves not to impress other's. At least that's what I think.
I very much like a clean car, but don't mind getting it dirty. If it gets dirty it's rinse & repeat time to have a clean car again.-

Yeah I have watched Larry’s videos from AMMO and he is not my cup of tea. I watched about 10-15 of Larry’s stuff.
I only deal with Todd Cooperider the owner of Esoteric, the person you see in the video above. I can call the shop and talk to him or Zack if I have any questions and they are always willing to help.
If you want to see the difference between Larry and Todd watch some of the video’s on Esoteric’s YouTube site.
Also, Tood and Esoteric has classes to train detailers and can certify them on several high end products not available to the general public.

Clearbraw works very well. The first owner of my 2012 R58 @CHKMINI had it put on and it has protected the car very well. The front still looks new. some people do the whole hood.

If so, that's one of the rarest colors. Justa Cooper only color along with Solid Gold and Mint Green. I really did all three of those colors. And I've only seen two other Ruby Red MINIs ever! Either way, nice job! -
