  1. Guest - Welcome to the new Motoring Alliance Site! Steve, MCS02 and I were up until the early hours this morning working to get it done... as you can see it took us a bit longer than expected to get Phase 1 up and running. We are not 100% there.. its a journey. For site updates, "How Do I" and feedback please use the Announcements, How Do I, Feedback Forum (Links below). Like building a car.... its never done... and thanks for your patience

MINIs come in many different flavors with a host of options. Using the tools and methods below you can learn how your MINI was equipped from the factory.

With the last 7 characters of your VIN visit:

BMW Model Archive · BMW VIN Decoder · bmwarchive.org

Be sure to scroll down the results page to see all options that were included from the factory.

MINI US has a toll free number, 866-ASK-MINI where you can get the same info as above plus the name of the selling dealer and in service date. They will also give you information about which, if any, recalls have been performed.

Your local MINI Dealer can also read the Key Fob to determine all of the above and depending on the dealer they will supply a service history. Note, only if work was performed at a MINI dealer.

I used this to get details of when my car was made, equipment, etc., and printed out the results. Very interesting.

I had my local parts guy at the dealership look up my car. Funny thing was it was ordered though the same dealership and he even had all the original paperwork. (electronically)

He also had all the service records as it was always serviced by the same dealer. The only thing I do not know is the original owners name and address for security and privacy reason which I completely understand.

I bought mine from a Subaru dealer. Emailed MINI and got all of the details. It was sold from the only dealer within 200 miles :) and the previous owner had all services done at the dealer, so I got a copy of all of the records. Also, in MO, you take the previous title (signed over to the dealer who did not title it) to the DMV. Since it was the original, it also had the original owners name and address. They live (or did when they titled it) in the neighborhood next to mine! Makes since as the Subaru dealership is down the street.

    Thanks for the link!
If your car had a factory LSD installed, would that show up in the details section?
