It has no reference to that lil school with that name. It was a name given to residents of the state of NC long before it was adopted by that school.

I founded the Club and despise that school

 

Looks like I get the chance to be re-reminded of the love that is felt across the fine educational institutions of NC.:blush2:

I think I get it. Kinda like someone hearing about me growing up in Chicago asking about the Cubs which usually ends up with me curling my lip in disgust rrr:

It's also like calling a woman from Georgia a Georgia Peach. Peaches grow on trees and are pretty, but a Georgia Peach is a hot woman from Georgia!

 

And the term is only considered offensive by people who aren't one.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Roll Tide Roll. I went to a different school. Also attended UVA, University Maryland, Florida Southern, University of South Fla, University Roto Spain, University Frankfort Germany and a few more. Graduated Alabama but who cares! When in the Air Force you go to the school nearest the base. Been to Columbia MO, think that would be a great school there. Alot of nice people for sure.
