Beer + Ice + Cooler = Cold Beer when the power has gone out! ;)

Take from someone who survived Hurricane Charley-

    Leave when they tell you.
Bring all your insurance paperwork with you.

And get as much cash as you can- the ATM's do not work when there is no power.
    Good luck and stay safe.

So...got the Mother in law a rechargeable light for black outs... All set right?

    No...

She calls all frantic about not knowing where the charger is, what it looks like, how to plug it in...:mad2:

I told her "its about 3 inch black box that plugs in the wall with a wire coming out"...I might have well told her it was a flying purple elf that craps out skittles and gotten the same response of total astonishment and disbelief that something like that even exists.

Next time she gets a box of batteries and a Mag light.

We did the check list this morning too. Anything that could blow away secured, filled water troughs, in case we lost power, the horses will be OK, filled large water container for dogs & cats, dog food, cat food, hay, horse feed. Everything ready to go............opps, we forgot food and water for the humans....oh well, we have plenty of booze.

We got TON of rain- ended up with 6 inches of water in our basement :mad2:
Oh well, could have been worse.
It's pretty much all cleaned up now. Just got some fans on things to help dry them out.

Glad everyone else made it through ok

    Yep, fully finished.
Last year after having to rip up the rug for the 3rd time, we said F it and put vinyl flooring down. This time clean-up was pretty easy.

It's going to be quite interesting here in Hampton Roads, too!

Mandatory evacuation of the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach.

Schultze & the hubby's 2011 GTI will be parked up close to the house; if I had a covered porch, I'd pay the neighborhood teens to get Schultze up onto the porch! LOL

    Everyone stay safe!

That goes for me too. Everyone batten down the hatches. I wish I were a tad further inland.

The 5 day Pittsburgh forecast shows 0% rain, 80 degrees, and sunny. Let's hope it stays that way.

You guys closer to the coast stay safe!
