Dozer is stickin' to me like velcro...all 75# of him. The cats have started "talking/singing"... A branch from the neighbor's tree broke off and bounced off the roof above my bedroom. Happy times!
Been watching the Weather Channel this morning. The are covering NC and NY and little to nothing about the Mid-Atlantic. It is only DC which I guess nobody really cares about. Jim
Jim.... Get Foggie up on your spare jack stands, every little bit helps... Oh, and for sleeping recommendations.....
So...got the Mother in law a rechargeable light for black outs... All set right? No... She calls all frantic about not knowing where the charger is, what it looks like, how to plug it in...:mad2: I told her "its about 3 inch black box that plugs in the wall with a wire coming out"...I might have well told her it was a flying purple elf that craps out skittles and gotten the same response of total astonishment and disbelief that something like that even exists. Next time she gets a box of batteries and a Mag light.
Lots of power truck caravans were heading up I 71 this morning out of Cincy. Reinforcements are coming!
This is a huge issue still..lol. I might just go over with my box of old adapters and find one that will work for her. Still, she has such a neat house, there are only so many outlets and drawers to look in. I just can't believe that she can't find it. I bet it is plugged into the wall already in her bedroom and she just can't quite get the idea of what it is.
All the house plants are inside now, anything that might blow away has been put away or secured. Oil lamps filled and wicks trimmed, camping lights, flash lights are ready, Camp stove ready, laundry done. Extra potable and flushing water stored, emergency drinking water on hand. I would love to live by the ocean except for times like this.
We did the check list this morning too. Anything that could blow away secured, filled water troughs, in case we lost power, the horses will be OK, filled large water container for dogs & cats, dog food, cat food, hay, horse feed. Everything ready to go............opps, we forgot food and water for the humans....oh well, we have plenty of booze. Jim
Our town just put us in a state of emergency and we are not aloud to leave our house I love storms... as long as everyone stays safe Kyle
Rain, some wind and all is well. It turned out to be nothing like they thought it would be and that is just fine with me. Jim
Lots of wind & rain, but no damage to our property. Schultze is covered with pine straw needles and a few small branches from our trees. The neighbor's tree lost some branches which bounced off the roof above my room, but no damage to our roof our gutters. Headed to First Landing State Park later to collect sea glass!
