It’s a 1986. It’s the third one I have owned. I got the first one when I was 19. I worked as a mechanic for a shop that work on only Italian cars. Alfas, Lancia, and Fiat. I put a big valve head on it, a cam and bigger Weber carb. I loved that car. Did lots of autocross with it. Later in my 30’s I saw one for sale. I had to leave on a trip so I did not have time to look at it or even call the guy. I’ll never forget when I came home it was sitting in my driveway. My wife got it for me when I was on my trip she is great. It had to be sold for a truck. With 4 kids it was not the car to have.
So I am going back to my roots.

Weill it arrived Monday. The car is in better shape than I could have hoped for. It is like a brand new car. The previous owner had the interior redone in leather, dash and seats. The motor is stock but it does have lower springs and KYB struts. It is slow but a lot of fun. 75HP of raw power. I forgot how small these cars are! It’s smaller than my Exige. I found an old Abarth Steering Wheel on eBay to add to it. It has a killer sound system. Blaupunkt amp a pioneer sub designed to fit in the spare, and a JVC head unit. It sounds great and yes I played 80’ new wave music in it.
The head unit has a loos wire so I may swap it with my Alpine head unit. Other than that I am leaving it alone to enjoy.
Maybe down the road I will do an old school build with duel webers, headers, cam and a big valve head. No K swap for this car, it way to nice. If I do an old school build I will use a different engine and transmission.
I plan on maybe some autocross but mostly C&C and just have fun!

Nice addition to the car stable. Yes, the MB needs to be gone, unless you have grown attached to the cushy interior and soft ride. The X19 is a good daily and autox car plus a clean one for the C&Cs you have in your area. I know how everyone feels about age, being 76 and just getting a visit to my hip doctor, I am glad for a nice tall Audi Q5, road trips are better in the Q5. We still have the 11 Countryman, it has become the dog car and grocery getter. Put about 4K into getting the engine oil leaks fixed, new timing chain etc. So far might be around for another year or so.
Enjoy the new car @MCS02!-

Well nothing Mini to report. Sense I don't have one and my wife's Mini is running good. I did get headers and exhaust for the X. It will be in the 100's the next few days so I don't plan on installing them till it cools a little. It should sound better than the stock exhaust with the cat still on it. Not sure it will add much HP to the already astronomical 90 it already has. But as @Crashton said its fun to drive slow cars fast.
