The 1000cc OT Abaths with the Radiale where the fast ones in that class. The Other 1000 Abarths had the Fiat 600 head on them they weren't as fast. I believe that is the majority of them that you see now.
Next time your at a vintage race if you see some old Abarths take some pictures and post them. My 58 was set up for vintage racing but I never got to take it to one. Just auto cross and rally's.

Nice write up chuck! The only Abarth I've owned was a Strada 105 Abarth

Thanks Chris. I remember the Strada when they sold them here, no Abarth's though. Like many of Fiat's cars the Strada was a sales flop here in the states.
Do you have good memories of your Ritmo Abarth? -

Not many good memories! it was cheap, ugly and rusty but went well! Then I sold it to a strange Fiat guy who painted it metalic pink! go figure.

I'm 6'4" and had a hard time with the Fiat 500 with a sunroof. I fit very nicely into the 500e and I dig orange with orange/white interior they do exclusively for the electric. If I needed a city commuter car, I'd think about that one very hard. A 2 year lease was hella cheap too... nothing down and $200/month took one home... maybe $300 for the electric.
