Dave O wins the diagnosis. But Lee you are the big winner here!

I know some people thought I'm nutz, but I periodically checked the plug torque on my MINI. Never found a loose one, but the check is so easy.

Well The plug did get tight so I believe it will hold but I have to go get a torque wrench. My torque wrench does not go that low. I am off to the dealer to get new plug wires and a coil pack. The wires and coil pack have been on my car about 13 years. I wish I had time to use eMini parts. I got hearing aids about 3 weeks ago. I am hearing all sorts of stuff I have not heard in a long time. I have found the right rear of my mini has a squeak and I could hear something coming from the engine but was not sure if it was a sound it always made or not. Guess what it was.......yes a lose plug! The down side of the engine being ok is no excuse for a RMW stroker.

So in a month or so I am going to put a clutch in it. I already have the power flex bushings. while I have it apart I am going to replace the ball joints. Can anyone think of anything els I should do?

    Thanks every one !

When was the last time the transmission oil was changed.

    How about adding an LSD.

We can spend your money ya know, we're darn good at it.

LSD that would be good! I will definitely do the transmission oil.

dropping subframe will make it real easy to replace the power steering hoses. Tried to do this without dropping it and only got one of two hoses out. The rubber gets stiff over time and leaks begin with temperature changes. Learned that this winter with our red car. Only one hose is easy to get to without the subframe drop.

Replace CV boots and repack them, perhaps new wheel bearings. Plenty of money to be spent in that area

I put better hose clamps on the power steering last time I had the sub frail down. I am thinking about new PS hoses given the ones on it are 14 years old now.

Rear main seal is a good idea if not already counted in your list. Glad the motor is still good w/ the plug issue.
