Another idea would be to get the NC State Patrol or whoever patrols those roads to donate some photos of accidents of people being stupid on the Dragon. Just make up a nice sheet about safety that is in every packet and keep the "reminders" going throughout the event. If you see someone acting out of line [so to speak] make sure they are informed, politely, that what they are doing is very dangerous and not appreciated by the group. Guilt works wonders.
IMHO, I think the ideas we have are great and the ones I stated I'll be implimenting should be sufficient. Keep in mind, per my conversation with Killboy, they were only about 12 offenders out of 823 attendees. Not sure we need to re-invent the wheel, just need to grease the axel a little.
Agree!! Folks simply need to understand the danger of crossing the line and that it ACTUALLY TAKES MORE SKILL to drive in your lane....
How about taking the kids MINI car and have a MINI Dragon Course set up going down hill...have people drive the kids MINI down the hill to see if they can stay within the cones or whatever is set up.
Nathan, Who was the guy selling MOTD Badges in the lodge just outside of the packet pickup room? He was sold out when I spoke with him and I'd like to order some stuff from him. Thanks, Nate
This will only encourage the donut munchers to to drive left of center. Mmmm donuts.... :drool:donut1:
How about a long double yellow line (duck tape) right down the middle of vendors row. You could add signs on trash cans about the double yellow line. STAY ON YOU SIDE!
Whatever catchy phrases are dreamt up, how about making a printing onto a little reminder to dangle from the rear-view mirror for drivers while they're on the road. Sorry if this has been mentioned alread I haven't read the whole thread
How about we find the egregious offenders & use a log chain & lock to hobble their cars. Sort of a MINI timeout. Just kidding folks....  Lots of good ideas here & a smart arse one. Forgive me I have yet to take my meds.... ut:
Just create a CafePress store with some "Safety Shirts" for those that are interested. And thanks to COOPERation for his time and artwork
forgot to mention, if anyone wants to have the design on the back instead of the front, let me know and I can add that to the store. I hope to add a few more designs between now and the next MOTD and I'm always open to suggestions.
My husband would like the "on the back" option. He also said maybe those of us working registration could all try and wear them?
I always like the back option myself, but wasn't sure if other people did as well. I just added another section with the back option.
