A google search with R56 and 7514237 turned up some references to AC/Heat blower fans (but the link just took me to ebay). So maybe it connects to the AC somewhere?
I also found it on Real OEM as a part of a battery cable harness (which makes some sense, given it is an electrical connector), but not for an R56. -

it sure looks like it clips into a sensor on that air line running from filter to turbo, near the oil like for the turbo

This looks kind of like it. This is on my R58 with the n14 engine. You can see on my car it plugs into something under the air intake hope thi helps
