I am one who believes in the constitution. It is unfortunate that people have gotten lazy and no longer take the time to understand it. Most listen to the sound bites and hang on the first thing that sounds good, never really asking any questions. It is unfortunate that we do not have better choices this time around. I believe we probably agree on most matters, but their are those on both sides that seek to divid us, as people and a nation. Here is where it starts, on forums, at work, at home at Thanksgiving dinner. We pick sides and argue. Does it make a difference? Will the back and forth here change anyones mind?
Our country is in a mess, there is plenty of blame to go around. Fighting each other only blinds us to truth of what is happening.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness The Declaration of Independence
Does anyone here not agree with this statement?
I have political ammunition too but have decided not to use it. I care more about my neighbor and fellow citizen then about defending some self centered politician.
Lets just let this go and find away to agree. Then we can see straight to set the course of our country.
Its time we all go back and read the The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States and ponder this question, Is this what we really have? -

It seems like there are just as many people voting AGAINST one candidate or the other as there are people voting FOR one or the other.
Out of 324-million people, this is the best we can get?

We can bomb those stupid countries back to the stone age without putting any US Troops on the ground and put Russia back in its place.
They "Russia" will not attack us and we will not attack them, the Middle East is both countries battlefield. It has been this way for ever. -

I don't want to hear people crying because they did not vote in the Primaries or voted 3rd party that was just stupid.
All the other 3 party guys could not raise the cash or did not have a clue what Aleppo was.
Face it we are a 2 party system and all the other little parties are a waste of every ones time and money. -
Might be away from prying eyes and be an off-off-off topic area yet do not let this denigrate to Fox News level shouting. It'll be stopped.

George W Bush isn't endorsing Trump (Someone I don't have quite as bit of respect for, but as a former president, still deserves respect). -
I find myself having to vote for the one that I judge as the "least worst." I can't help but feel that I'm far from being alone on that.
For me, NOT voting is NOT and option. People died for my right to vote, so I feel an obligation to participate. So, I'll hold my nose and vote for my "least worst."

I can't vote lesser of two evils; evil is still evil.
It's why I'm voting 3rd party for president, straight republican for everything else....Yes, a third party candidate will not win, but enough 3rd party votes will have an impact; both parties will try to win them back. It's my only hope for genuine progress--for the republicans, who have lost touch with a substantial portion of various subgroups in our population, and for the democrats, who are subservient to a political machine that controls the party.
It's really low tide for both parties.
In a side note, this is one of the most civil discussions I've come across on the elections; who'd of thunk it would be on MA. In other words, if there was ever a thread that should remain open, this one would get my vote. -

A couple of thoughts
War on women? The left started this 8 years ago to get women to vote for Obama. It seems to be centered on 2 things abortion and free contraception. The equal pay thing isn't valid as there are ready laws that say that has to happen. With a few exceptions I haven't heard any politician say they want abortion gone just limit the time. It is the number killer in some racial communities. I don't think my tax dollars should pay for either.
The republicans didn't give us Trump the people did. As already pointed out the Bushs aren't supporting him. He was crammed down the weak republican establishment's throut because a lot of us are tired of the donothings that run things. Time for a shake up.
Unstable or unpredictable. In business this is a good trait so the competition doesn't know what your going to do. In government it can be beneficial also so the enemy doesn't know what your going to do. With what's going on now we wouldn't have won WWII. Yes, it's not beneficial for wall street but then they have been doing their own thing for a while now anyway.
Hilary as pres and a republican congress make some people think at least things won't change. But they will, she has stated that the court should make laws not interpret them. She must have not paid attention during school house rock. Congress won't stop her for fear of being called names by the media.
The country is more divided now than 8 years ago. This was by design. A divided country is not a strong one and is easier to control the people. Create hate between groups and turn them against each other. It's not a new tactic. Trump has two elements he is against illegal aliens and terrorists. Not hispanics, not blacks, not women, not legal immigrants, not muslims.
My hat's off to the people on M/A and here on this thread we can have a political discussion with it dropping to name calling and personal attacks and at the end of the day share a beer together. -

Every day there shines a new light. This morning I flipped on a news channel thinking to myself 'let's see what's new on the political front today'. Low and behold there now appears to be a line-up of women who are waiting to tell their experiences with the Donald and his small groping little hands. I can't wait to find out what new discoveries there will be tomorrow morning.
