If she loses, the Democratic party needs to make it VERY clear that she is going out to pasture. If you can't beat Donald Trump, you are never going to be the next president. You have had "your turn -- twice," now go away.
Going back to my original post -- probably long forgotten -- this is, without a doubt, the worst presidential election in my lifetime... no matter who wins.
Super-Ego vs Super-Ego.
Please, Republican Party and Democratic Party, don't put us through this again. Give us candidates with better than 30-percent approval ratings on election day!

Considering the title of this thread, I'll just toss this it there....
How stupid do you think the controlling members of the Democratic Party feel about right now.
Considering the number of people who reportedly didn't vote for The Donald as much as they voted against Hillary.
And most likely they could have nominated "anyone else", and won by a substantial margin.
Just a thought. -
As for Donna Brazile and Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Karma is a bitchh. -

...burden.
Donald Trump made a lot of BIG promises. He’s going to bring all those low-skill jobs back from China and Mexico. He’s going to build a wall the entire length of the US-Mexico border, and Mexico is going to pay for it. He is going to eliminate the deficit, AND cut taxes for everyone.
MAKING those promises was easy. Now, he has to actually do it.
So, Dave.0 and the other Trump-o-philes, I get to kick back, and do absolutely nothing but watch. The next few years are easy for me. For you, it is put up or shut up time.
You won, so now the burden is on you and your messiah. You have a maximum of four years to get all this stuff done. And, he’ll have a Republican congress, so no excuses.
It’s Showtime, and there is no editing in REAL reality.

As I've said many times over the years at election time: Luckily our government is structured in such a manner that we could elect Howdy Doody to the Presidency and things would still be o.k. Now is our chance to see if I've been right all these years. -
I agree. I made the resolve a couple of months ago to not bash who ever the people voted in. I'm curious to see how Trump challenges the established politicians and am hoping that some meaningful changes come out of the next four years in that regard.

I hope that both parties realize they have lots of work to do to gain back our trust. For those that are waiting to bash Trump if everything he promised doesn't happen within the next 4 years, you'll have plenty of ammo, as virtually no president is able to keep all his promises. Sadly that is something we all have come to expect. Do I want him to build a wall, YES. Do I think he will, doubtful but hopeful.. Atleast he wants it to happen unlike most of the others. I'm not backing off him being "my guy" from the beginning just be realistic... Example: Bill Clinton claimed leading up to his 1st election that he would have a national health system in place within 100 days of taking office. 8 years later it still hadn't happened... I didn't vote for him but that is the one I wanted him to do some how some way IF done correctly. No reason we should have LEGAL AMERICANS who can't hardly afford a Dr. bill and prescriptions..

So many replies. So I'll just put them in one post.
- Well the FBI said she mishandled the classified information and other people have gone to jail for the same thing.
- She did lie to congress. That is a factual given. Numerous people have gone to jail for that.
- There is documented proof that she and the DNC destroyed Bernie and fixed the primary.
- The other information is just coming to light. So we'll have to see where it goes.
Quite simply gay people can do what they want as long as it don't effect me. When they want to force something for the benefit of a 3% minority that effects everyone else that's a problem. Have a civil union that's fine. But they want "mirage" as a way to force religions to change.
This country has made many religions in it for a long time and for the most part usually got along. It when a religion, any religion, want to force their thoughts and rules on others that there is the problem. Do keep in mind that this country is still about 80% Christian and most of the areas of population growth are Christian too.
Any republican candidate would have been pounded by the dems and the media. Romney was about the cleanest and they still beat him up taking thing he said and twisting it around.
That's all. It's over now. I thank everyone for a lively debate. -

mrntd, Kasich would have won, no doubt in my mind. And it would have been a less polarizing end result.
Dave, it's not a landslide, Hillary will win the popular vote, and in the states that mattered in the electoral college, it was close.
But yes, I'm still surprised. The last two weeks killed her--Comey, Donna Brazile not being able to get out of the news, the Clinton foundation front page and center--if the election was held three weeks ago, the outcome is different. This was literally an unprecedented last second swing--even Trump's inner circle thought they were beat.
The pendulum has swung all the way to the other side. I don't necessarily think this is a good thing; I don't think we'll truly get back on track until things come back more to the center--we are going back and forth from one extreme to the other. I fear another swing next election. The next four years is going to be a test of checks and balances...
That being said, the media was absolutely awful. They pointed out that there were extremes in voter profiles voting for the candidates, and subsequently this was going to be the most divisive election in history. The EXACT same thing happened 8 years ago, but the media touted it as a great coming together. I remember how gushing the media was 8 years ago, and how condemning it was last night. I believe most of the mainstream media is proving to be more divisive than Trump. -

Apparently Trump dominated among the undereducated white male category. Seems to be manifested in the comparative eloquence of the reflections shared herein.

If undereducated workers vote for a liberal candidate, and the same was said, it would be heresy.
I don't like the election result either (either Hillary or Trump was a loss to me personally), I'm not a Trump fan. But this isn't the answer. As much as I don't like him, his first message was conciliatory. There are checks and balances. We gotta try and move forward.
