...and perhaps have solidified their world-views through the exclusive filter of Fox or MSNBC. Both have dedicated the last four years to vilifying the opposition, whipping up the extremists into a torch-bearing frenzy, and dishing out propaganda that is gobbled up by those lacking any sort of critical thinking. I trust little that is put forward by either these outlets. (Note: at least MSNBC admits to their bias and doesn't try to perpetuate the other's "fair and balanced" BS...)
It kind of is the issue, this started off as a lessor of two evils scenario. Yea Trump has a big mouth, said things that he "regrets", has worked the system in his favor, but as far as we know nothing legal. Clinton also has a history of working the system but she as well as her significant other played the system and got caught red handed. The sad thing is people have turned their heads to those facts. I guess time, money and smoke have a way of making things going away. I cant and will not vote for a traitor, or vote against someone that has a legitimate chance of keeping a traitor out of office.
No, it wasn't. We were at that point talking about how close the election is or isn't going to be (which we disagree on), not the merits/demerits of the candidates--the discussion had moved on.
As have most people in the country. When the candidates stop, then we'll stop. It's only fair. Plus it gives you the opportunity to post funny memes. Everybody wins!
So the choice we all have... Vote 3rd party, and remove yourself from the equation...the trueest form of apathy... Vote for Hillery and all of her wheeling a dealing (quid pro quo, etc), she is after all the ultimate insider... Vote for Trump, and let Congress and the Senate moderate his goals.... For me the choice is clear....if you don't like how things are going, you can't keep electing the same type of career politicians and expecting a different outcome....
Forgot one: Vote for Hillary, and let Congress and the Senate moderate her goals.... I'm not voting for Hillary, but realistically, this is the best scenario we can hope for. Trump isn't getting elected. My great fear is a democratic controlled presidency AND congress.
My fear is with Hillery having so much info and relationships with other lawmakers, that she will run wild finishing the actions of the last 8 years....making us more social than most of Europe, which has seen socialism doesn't work cause it is such a disincentive to work and productivity..... I figure Trump doesn't have "working relationships" with many in Washington, and hence there will be gridlock.... And gridlock , and the stability it gives usually is what bussiness WANT....
The rank and file republicans detest Hillary. It's the one thing that everyone has in common; it would be political suicide to promote her agenda as a republican--she is going to go in as the most disliked president in history, and is going to have a hard time pushing things through IF the Republicans can keep control of the Senate. I see her as a one term president, and my suspicion is as she gets toward the end of her term, democrats are going to try and distance themselves ftom her too (she's the last gasp of the old guard), making her last two years in office inconsequential. Time will tell.
I've created a monster. :eek6: I think I'll have a drink... [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2hIBz-DomY"]The Cocktail You Need to Get Through the Election | Bon Appetit - YouTube[/ame] CD :biggrin5:
Nah. Not enough butt hurt in this thread to get the monster designation; you'll have to try harder. Start a thread extolling the beauty of the F56. That one is tried and true (if overdone) for monster threads. On second thought, don't....:cornut:
Have you heard the new tape out where Donald tells Rush Limbaugh how much he loves the F56? "It's YUGE!" CD :biggrin5:
The best thing from the 2nd debate. Looking forward to the 3rd. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzcjexXZ6yg"]Donald Trump ft. Hillary Clinton - Time of My Life (Duet) - YouTube[/ame]
I don't know, Obama would be in a tight race with her for the most disliked, but everyone wanted to give Obama a second chance to finish what he started and look where we are now, forced health care, increase in the national deficit and on and on...... You prediction may be correct, especially if Clinton picks up where Obama left off, but she has shown that she is a power hungry individual and proved that she knows how to manipulate the system. Clinton has not shown herself to be the type of person that is going to step down gracefully, but even if it is only one term as you predict, think of the damage a career politician can cause during that term, even with a Republican Senate. Some of that damage may be irreversible. Time will tell.
Fact: In every country that had freer gun laws like we do that instituted (comprehensive background checks) gun registration. The registration was followed up confiscation. Not to mention that the gun control laws on the books now don't get enforced and criminals don't follow the laws. This is the problem. With the control the dems have over the media and the media over the reps it will be almost impossible. The people will have to wake up to see what is really happening for the dems to loose. Two parts. The polls show it differently. In the recent history the pools become more accurate the closer the date gets, because they don't want to be wrong. Congress can stop her but they won't just like they haven't stopped O. They only care about getting reelected and what the media says about them. If they really listened to their people then they would have already done something. It was the deal to get her to support him. The newest info to come out is that she instructed people to create events that made her look good to be president. It's like the deal Bernie got to support her.
Separate post for this idea/question As stated above everyone here has made their decision. My question is when did you choose you person? Were you locked in from the start? Was it after the primaries were over? Was it recently?
The polls show Trump getting beat by the largest margin in years...Even with margin of error factored in. Could've been worse--as bad as Hillary is, had Sanders won, and he came uncomfortably close considering how much of an advantage Hillary had, it would be much, much worse. What's funny to me is it wasn't that long ago that Trump and his supporters were touting there strength by telling everyone to look at the polls, back when they were way up. Now that they're way behind, suddenly the polls are inaccurate. Can't have it both ways.
