Thanks everyone Had another walk this evening. I'm tuckered out.

 

Woohoo I shall be released today.

 

It's a real smile. I'm still here.

 

Good day today. A short outing where I walked a bit. Then a nap. Got my brother to take me on a late afternoon walk. Came homr, had a snack and now it's nap time.

I feel meh still, a fair amount of pain in the chest, then again I did beat up a rib spreader.

 

Getting back to where we were..sorta...

Just got back from going to the Volunteers of America thrift store where I donated all of my now too big for me winter clothes.

 

Since I feel the need to write about this stuff and share it here is another one...

Way back on June 30th during my intake interview for the Cardio Rehab program I was asked if I wanted The Ohio State University Cardiopulmonary Behavioral Medicine Clinic to contact me. This is their leader...Department of Psychology - Charles Emery

on the 1st of the month my number was called. Had no idea I was so far back in that line that I forgot I was even in.

A very nice person queried if I was still interested. I gave her a quick rundown of things to that point. Worried that there may be overlap in the treatment I'm receiving and not wanting to deprive others of this service if there was overlap we left it at I'd talk to my therapist and we'd go from there.

Therapist said go for it, see what it is about.

Spoke to nice lady that had called, said hey lets try it out and see. Saw her on Monday. It was a lot of intake stuff. I'm getting really good at the 15 min detailed recap of the past few years. I'm thinking of making charts, graphs and maybe one of those infographics that are so popular wit the kids these days.

We are meeting again on Monday. I see my therapist again tomorrow.

So a few thigs of note...

I try and reply to everything I get from ya'll. I'm really scatterbrained these days. So if you contact me and don't hear back within a day, kick me again please. If I don't make notes as it happens it's gone from my head and my life lately.

I might post things that have you scratching your head. Like ranting about facetweetagramtristster.

Oh, and I debating on admitting this to the world but why tyhe hell not. I've worked hard to reach this seemingly innocuous point.

For the first time since the Clinton (for the USA folk), Chrétien (for the Canadians) Major (for the UK folk) administration the first digit on the scale starts with a 2.

Had my quarterly peek to make sure the cancer thing hasn't reappeared. It has not. That is 1.5 years clear now.

 

Woohoo. Great doc visits today.

First was the surgeon. This was my last visit with him. He's happy with the things are healing. Have me a letter stating I can drive again on June 26, just a short 10 days from today. Woohoo

Next was off to the wound clinic for the hole in my leg. That has cleared up very nicely. The tunnel where a vein was harvested has closed up cleanly. My next appt is in 2 weeks. Not having to go back in a week speaks volumes. Was wearing a MINI hat today. Doc asks if I own one. Turns out his daily driver is a chile red/ black one. Of course I gave him a M/A card and invited him to donuts. Hopefully he'll join the site.

 

Rare mid-week update from M/A World HQ.

Just getting back from a stress test. Since the last one 11 weeks ago I've lost 6" around the middle, 21 lbs, which is 1 over goal for the period and increased my work ability by 15%.

The formal cardiac rehab program ends this coming Monday for me. This does not mean I have completed my personal rehab. Fortunately Ohio State gives a free 30 day membership to the same facility with the same people and same level of care to all graduates of their Cardiac Rehab program. After that I qualify for a very reduced rate to continue with them. $50 a quarter. Thank you Martha Morehouse, whomever you were, for these facilities.

The journey continues.
