Ya know as one weens them self off the heavy pain meds the head feels better yet the body doesn't quite yet. Not complaining but damn do I feel like a truck ran over my shoulder this morning. Going to be a slow start today. That's for sure. Needed to share, that is all.

Nathan, congrats on all your weight loss but don't get rid of your large winter coats.

You could have them cut up and have a nice car cover made for your MINI this Winter. :ihih::eek6::lol:

End or week, sort of, update.

Physically, I'm doing great. I can easily walk 10+ miles a day now. On a 16 Day streak of over 12,000 steps per day.

Mentally, not so much. I am seeking assistance in this area. Hopefully we can get it corrected quickly. Sleep is about non-existent. Caught a cat nap for a few hours this afternoon, before that it was Tuesday for a few hours. The house is very clean. Peppercorns have been sorted by size, color and perceived potency. Umm, yeah, the OCD has been kicking in big time too.

Cleaned out closet of all the biggest clothes. They are all way to big now. Donating them to the Volunteers of America Thrift Store. An industrious person could use all that material to cover the walls of yurt built for 4.

It's Friday, I feel like writing so instead walking over to the really hispter coffee place I now frequent and writing in my journal I'll foist this on ya'll. Mostly it's raining, fall arrived on this front too so it downright chilly out and I've already hit 140%+ of my daily 10,000 step goal.

Today is 22nd day in a row I've hit my 10,000 step per day goal with an average of just under 16,000 per day. That comes to about 7 miles of walking per day on average.

Physically, I usually feel great. But like an old carburatored car I need a bit to warm up starting from rest before I'm really operational. Walking the neighborhood has been awesome. I keep finding little hidden gems.

Mentally, things are changing. I finally feel as I am getting the help I need. I still have a lot of trouble concentrating on complex projects. My personality is changing too. I think for the good. I've been more outgoing, mostly in a good way. There was that whole blowup I had this week on Facebook. That was a learning experience too. Found out that a lot of people that claim to be extraordinary are anything but.

Weight continues to drop. Was a on a bit of plateau this week. Frustrating really, was the exact same weight to the 10th on 2 different scales for 5 days this week. Still have almost no appetite. When I do eat it is not much, the quality is very good and it's a healthy mix of the food groups.

Something in my head was wired backwards during all this. I'm not shy about enjoying life. The other day walking around Bohemian Rhapsody played in my Pandora stream. The only thing missing from my Wayne's World experience was the extra people and the Pacer. People were staring. Heh..

For the most part I'm having a lot of fun finding the new me. Yet there are major potholes along this route.

Anyway, that's the news from M/A World HQ for now.

Drove the MINI today. First time in 10 days. It only hurts to open the door, close the door, shift, steer right, steer left, downshift, turn and hit a bump. Otherwise it was awesome.

Not going to drive much over the next few weeks I see...

    Routine Dr Appt today...

New A1C test, down again from 5.4 to 5.3. Base levels of daily insulin injections have been reduced...again...

Have a referral for Aquatic Therapy now. I can start using the warm water pool to facilitate recovery from the broken ribs.

Winter hit me harder than normal this year. Gained a little over 20lbs. Was rather depressed for weeks. Hibernated quite a bit and in general was blah.

A few nice days and I'm rearing to go again. Been out walking. Been eating better. Been growing a beard.

    Ahhhhh...

Someone even wrote Hell Yeah! in the frost on the side window of the MINI this morning. I call that a good sign. :biggrin5:

I'm gonna be a human test subject!

Been accepted in a study at The Ohio State University titled: Growing HOPE for Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Project

I feel fortunate to be accepted. The study group is only 50 people. The structure will be rather helpful towards accomplishing my long range goals set a year ago. I may blog about this exerience if allowed. Have to check with the study coordinator.

Dang man! I miss MA for one day and look what happens!

First off, Nathan, glad you're getting fixed up. You're a major part of the MINI community and we're all pulling for a fast, speedy and full recovery. I blame the MOTD horror room aka Snooters Sweat Shop for your current condition.

As for the rest of these loonies, if I ever have to go through something like this, I pray there are as many silly ass people to keep me laughing like the posts I've read in this thread. Really makes me wonder about the members here at MA. We are a bunch of demented people, ain't we!

Take care buddy, we're praying for ya! And we'll all try to keep Dave in check!

Oh yeah having a mostly great day. Had a little issue at about lap 40 of the F1 race but waited to the checked flag to call the nurse. They had a good laugh over that as they put on the Nitroglycerin patch and deadened the pain with morphine.

The best part tho, I got to shave and even take a shower.

Thanks to the MoM folks that have visited too. Was good to see you.

Just got an update on Nathan...

The breathing tube has been removed and they have Nathan sitting up in bed. He's very groggy but knows he's had a successful operation... Feeding him ice chips...

The plan is to get Nathan up and about tomorrow morning....

No visitors are allowed in his room until probably sometime Thursday...
