Just had a visitor. That was very nice. Feeling somewhat decent today even after pushing myself hard yesterday. Looking forward to some walks this afternoon. Heck I even worked for 50 min today. Going to go for an hour at my desk tomorrow.

A good day or so of rest was very helpful. It only hurts a lot to get out of bed in the morning now instead of hella lot. Progress!
A big thanks to the local folks that came by and helped with domestic chores. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and smoked chicken. Made for a wonderful salad last night.
A little work today, limiting to 50 min in front of the PC and a short walk should do me good today. Looking forward to my outing tomorrow with two other Old Farts.-

Tommy's missed Nathan.... Nathan missed Tommy's....
This morning was good for Nathan's soul....
Sitting in the lobby while Nathan is getting an "adjustment"
It's nice and quiet here.... Brought a book to read.... Waiting to hear Nathan's blood curdling screams.... I didn't know you could curdle blood that way.... I find this all very interesting...-

Thanks, these pics are awesome.
I'm seeing some progress. Walking is becoming easier. I've been trying to add a few hundred more steps a day to the previous days total. The front stairs are no longer as daunting either.
Funny thing here. A fill in nurse advocate thats been helping me navigate the hospital bureaucracy checked the wrong box. When I was in today they kept asking me about where I lived, if everything was OK there, if I was being harassed by the other people in the shelter...yeah, it was odd.
The homeless box was selected in my record.
I didn't realize I looked that disheveled.-

Not much to update. Still hurt a bit but have slowed down the Vicodin intake. So that might be why I hurt as much. No really wanting to feel fuzzy all the time. Walking a little more each day. Even going to a car show tomorrow.
Sure do appreciate all the rides and help from so many of the local MoM folks along with the cards, letters, phone calls, PM, texts and little notes I see on M/A. It helps to know there are so many of you that care.-

Drove Gnat today. Not far, just a few miles. Going to take some more time before a road trip is in the cards. Hurts chest a bit to steer. Have to discuss that with rehab folks next weeks. See what we can do to get that fixed up quicker. Would really like to be able to drive to Pittsburgh for the GP on the weekend of July 19.
Oh yeah, washed it too, dang was it dusty.-

Rehab is going well. I've exceeded my goal of 10,000 steps per day 17 of the last 20 days. Sleep mostly eludes me still. Not as bad lately though, that is a good thing. Weight is coming off slowly. Wish it was faster, then again it took a long time to get this big, going to take some time to shrink back down. Glad I have that time now...-

There are a lot of trails nearby. Columbus Metro Parks are very nice, well groomed trails with very little flashing and hardly any murders. Not being of the Attractive Blond White Woman persuasion, I'm not really a target. Central Ohio also has an extensive Rails to Trails network. I can almost envision a MINIFINI bike rack on Gnat.
A bike would be awesome.
My home is a cozy 2nd floor walk-up in the heart of an urban environment. I don't relish the idea of carrying a bike up to the back deck and lashing it to rather stout railings.
Yet...
I'm thinking more like in the spring time.
There are lots of used bike shops around being so close to THE Ohio State University.-

My tastes and sense of taste has changed quite a bit. Prepared foods with a lot of salt are horrible tasting now. Cheap meats like at Jimmy Johns or Subway are now horrid.
Most sweets are too sweet now too.
My sense of taste has become a lot sharper. I can identify depth of flavor like never before. It's been fun coming up with some rather unique combinations. Yesterday I pickled some turnips with Star Anise, Coriander, Mustard Seed, Juniper Berries and smoked Garlic Habanero infused Black Peppercorns.
This afternoon I snacked on some carrots I pickled back in July with a traditional 5 spice blend.-

Been a while since I've updated me.
it's been a tough road, something is messed up more than it used to be in my head. We're working on it.
The good news...
Had a scope today to check the cancer is still gone.
It is!
Now I go to semi-annual checks instead of quarterly.-

...oh yea, I hope the blood pressure cuff going off every 15 minutes or so doesn't bother you too much and when the nurse comes in each morning and askes "How are we this morning" try to cop a feel so you can tell her truthfully.
