Will we even be able to recognize you next year at Fontana with all this exercise and healthy eating? Oh I will pass on the kale donuts so don't ask. By next Spring you should be ready to complete the Boston marathon. :ihih:
Went on two outings and a walk today so far. Was given 1 hour on the PC for work too. I'm tired now... It's nice out so another walk after dinner is in the cards. Thanks for all the cards, emails, texts and calls of support. It really does help to keep spirits up. I sure do appreciate it. If you are in the neighborhood please feel free to stop in and say hello too. I like visitors.
Post up your address Nathan so we can send some stripes over to test your heart. Glad you are feeling better.
I dunno, a well-done set of viper stripes might get more of a rise out of all us old guys than strippers, and without the need of the little blue pill and that four hour nonsense.
Slow and steady progress from here on out, just be sure to follow your doctors orders and don't try to shortcut the process.... You're gonna make it!
Wow, I am just catching up myself and finally realize, Nathan, that your constitution has really been put to the test and you passed with flying colors. I second the advice you have been given to follow doctor's orders. In my case the instructions are to eat and exercise while my surgery wound gets dressed every day by UVA home nurses. My problem was twisted colon, and I will never forget being asked during the first week whether I had Farted (in those words) I was tempted to say it sounded like my Roadster the first day I passed gas! My best wishes to you, Nathan.
Ya know as one weens them self off the heavy pain meds the head feels better yet the body doesn't quite yet. Not complaining but damn do I feel like a truck ran over my shoulder this morning. Going to be a slow start today. That's for sure. Needed to share, that is all.
Baby steps, then toddler steps. You're progressing exactly like a good friend of mine who had the same procedure. (Although he wasn't tougher than a rib spreader.) I drove him around, was a walking partner, etc. The naps will get less frequent, the walks will get longer and faster and the pain will decrease a little more each day. Hang in there man! Looks like you're doing GREAT!
Yep, you'll feel some new pains for awhile. You've got blood flowing to places at a rate higher than they've seen in a while. You're doing great and will be running around the infield at Mid-Ohio before you know it!
