My god Nate....You are transmogrifying into Dave. It's VERY common after open heart surgery, especially if the vein harvesting site gets infected and you do yoga, to morph into the person who posts the most on your favorite internet site. Please go to the ER ASAP; if Dave starts spreading worldwide, it'll make Ebola look like a common cold.

    Oh god not Dave...

Only wagged a finger at the yellow light runner...

Helped the guy running for the bus by waving the bus down, Dave would have laughed at poor guy that missed his bus.

    I need a walk...

Yeah, it's only because you don't have a full blown case of the Daves--yet. By tomorrow, while driving, you'll be splashing nuns standing too close to puddles with reckless abandon, stealing stuff from people in wheelchairs, and flatulizing in elevators and blaming it on the person standing next to you. This is going to get ugly...

    LMAO

Don't forget taking lunches from kids at bus stops, asking the homeless for money and and leading the blind to a flight of steps telling them it's a flat sidewalk.

I am not that bad of a guy.

It's Friday, I feel like writing so instead walking over to the really hispter coffee place I now frequent and writing in my journal I'll foist this on ya'll. Mostly it's raining, fall arrived on this front too so it downright chilly out and I've already hit 140%+ of my daily 10,000 step goal.

Today is 22nd day in a row I've hit my 10,000 step per day goal with an average of just under 16,000 per day. That comes to about 7 miles of walking per day on average.

Physically, I usually feel great. But like an old carburatored car I need a bit to warm up starting from rest before I'm really operational. Walking the neighborhood has been awesome. I keep finding little hidden gems.

Mentally, things are changing. I finally feel as I am getting the help I need. I still have a lot of trouble concentrating on complex projects. My personality is changing too. I think for the good. I've been more outgoing, mostly in a good way. There was that whole blowup I had this week on Facebook. That was a learning experience too. Found out that a lot of people that claim to be extraordinary are anything but.

Weight continues to drop. Was a on a bit of plateau this week. Frustrating really, was the exact same weight to the 10th on 2 different scales for 5 days this week. Still have almost no appetite. When I do eat it is not much, the quality is very good and it's a healthy mix of the food groups.

Something in my head was wired backwards during all this. I'm not shy about enjoying life. The other day walking around Bohemian Rhapsody played in my Pandora stream. The only thing missing from my Wayne's World experience was the extra people and the Pacer. People were staring. Heh..

For the most part I'm having a lot of fun finding the new me. Yet there are major potholes along this route.

Anyway, that's the news from M/A World HQ for now.

Nate--one thing to throw out for consideration, if you have good trails in your area--biking. I love the workout--you have to concentrate a little on what you're doing just enough to keep your mind of everything else, but not so much it's taxing. Taking in views of the lake and woods, it's about the most peaceful hour and a half I get. Wish I could do it in the winter.

There are a lot of trails nearby. Columbus Metro Parks are very nice, well groomed trails with very little flashing and hardly any murders. Not being of the Attractive Blond White Woman persuasion, I'm not really a target. Central Ohio also has an extensive Rails to Trails network. I can almost envision a MINIFINI bike rack on Gnat.

    A bike would be awesome.

My home is a cozy 2nd floor walk-up in the heart of an urban environment. I don't relish the idea of carrying a bike up to the back deck and lashing it to rather stout railings.

    Yet...

I'm thinking more like in the spring time.

There are lots of used bike shops around being so close to THE Ohio State University.

It sounds to me like you're doing great! I can identify at least a little bit with how you're feeling, both with the physical (I've been working on my own fitness goals for what seems like forever) and emotional aspects.

    You're amazing!

Nate--thing about bikes: wait until the weather gets bad, then buy if they still have a good selection. The selection of used bikes is usually pretty good in the winter, and as you probably already know the prices plummet. Come springtime, the prices magically start going up again.

Since I feel the need to write about this stuff and share it here is another one...

Way back on June 30th during my intake interview for the Cardio Rehab program I was asked if I wanted The Ohio State University Cardiopulmonary Behavioral Medicine Clinic to contact me. This is their leader...Department of Psychology - Charles Emery

on the 1st of the month my number was called. Had no idea I was so far back in that line that I forgot I was even in.

A very nice person queried if I was still interested. I gave her a quick rundown of things to that point. Worried that there may be overlap in the treatment I'm receiving and not wanting to deprive others of this service if there was overlap we left it at I'd talk to my therapist and we'd go from there.

Therapist said go for it, see what it is about.

Spoke to nice lady that had called, said hey lets try it out and see. Saw her on Monday. It was a lot of intake stuff. I'm getting really good at the 15 min detailed recap of the past few years. I'm thinking of making charts, graphs and maybe one of those infographics that are so popular wit the kids these days.

We are meeting again on Monday. I see my therapist again tomorrow.

So a few thigs of note...

I try and reply to everything I get from ya'll. I'm really scatterbrained these days. So if you contact me and don't hear back within a day, kick me again please. If I don't make notes as it happens it's gone from my head and my life lately.

I might post things that have you scratching your head. Like ranting about facetweetagramtristster.

Oh, and I debating on admitting this to the world but why tyhe hell not. I've worked hard to reach this seemingly innocuous point.

For the first time since the Clinton (for the USA folk), Chrétien (for the Canadians) Major (for the UK folk) administration the first digit on the scale starts with a 2.

And that's the news from M/A World HQ where...

That's a damned good landmark to hit. We both share the same first digit now; I need to drop a few, that's going to motivate me to get my 2 to a 1 a bit quicker (hopefully).
