Gain a bunch of weight, let it turtle a bit. After you've gained ninety or so pounds, get a new girlfriend, then join Jenny Craig or do South Beach or some other totally effective and trendy diet, lose the weight rapidly, and you will become a legend of genital rejuvenation. Do the Brett Farve thing--take a few selfies and send them to some hot reporter (a female scribe would probably be your best bet), become famous, do some online streaming, write a book about the entire experience, and suddenly you have enough dough for a 2.0 L stroker, TVS, and a ball peen hammer to put some proper dents in the rat rod. Just a thought off the top of my head.
Ok, moving along.... Things here at M/A World HQ were for the most part fairly quiet this week. Besides the car getting hit that is... The drugs the shrink gave me seem to be working rather well. For the first time in quite a while I've been able to focus on complex tasks. I'm getting work done. The tool to track how much I walk has now recorded 1.5 million steps taken since May 24, 2015. That is an average of just over 10K per day. Been stuck at a plateau all week with weight. A little annoying, but it will drop again soon I'm sure. Rocking a new hair style too. Visited on of the more artsy salons in my neighborhood and added a bit of color to my hair. Thats all I got this week....
New drugs, new hairstyle (with colors--with all we've been talking about this week, I vote rainbow hair coloring and have the bangs molded into a long cone so you'll look like a middle aged multicolored unicorn), you're well on your to becoming the frontman for an eclectic, over the hill alternative rock band. Kind of like an earlier Peter Gabriel on mushrooms and many, many other natural supplements.
One tip... Remember, you might pleatu a bit cause you are loosing a bunch of fat, but building some more muscles from the walking.... So even if you see a few weeks "suboptimal" losses, you are setting yourself up for better losses in the future!! Keep up the good work!!
Whats new.... 16 weeks since I started Cardiac Rehab. I'm now fully a member of The Ohio State University Center for Wellness and Prevention, quite an odd name. Then again The Ohio State University Center to Beat You Silly whist you Love It in Order to Get Fit might scare off some people. Started a Stretching Class to increase flexibility and improve balance. It's fun, and I'm by far the youngest person in the group. Still on a plateau. Meeting with the trainer later in the week to mix things up a bit. Have to be a bit careful though. I'm still having muscular pains in my chest from being cracked open. Silly me keeps aggravating the area too. Still not really sleeping like I used to. I'm starting to wonder if this is just part of the new me where not as much sleep is required. Try and explain that idea to your doctor sometime...yeah. Physically I feel great, much better than I have in like forever. In other news, I'm not real enamored with HealthKit in iOS 8. Been trying to use it but unless one carries the phone all the time some of the data is skewed. I've paired it with my Jawbone Up. I'm looking forward to other apps that I use making themselves available to HealthKit. I have loads of data on weight, caloric intake, physical activity and blood sugar levels, yet only the nutritionist is interested in seeing the info. We've made some interesting correlations that have helped me fine tune things. I can present the data in easily digestible graphs, it surprises me no doc that I see has any interest. I'm also starting to see what I call "Checklist CYA Healthcare". By this I mean if you have X done then you will need to see P, Q and R at some point because everyone should. in my case it was a referral to a vascular surgeon. Was a quick visit. It was explained to me that because so many people don't follow through on their own care that these visits are needed. So that is whats going on here...
Good to hear you are feeling so great. Just keep doing the right things and stop aggravating the chest area. Don't need you popping open like a jack in the box.
With as many steps as you take a day, you should figure out how to turn that into a paying gig...wear a sandwich board for some of the local shops or become a dog walker. Congrats on the continued progress!
How do you like the Jawbone? My wife wants either that or a fitbit (which is ridiculous, she's the healthiest person I know, it's like peeing in the ocean for all the difference it's going to make). CYA healthcare....You want to get rid of that? It's called Tort reform. Which was the monkey on medicines back that was never addressed by the recent ACA/Healthcare overhaul. Obama, and most of congress, are lawyers. Coincidence, or not? Ok, back to your regularly scheduled program...
:lol::lol::lol::lol: Yea it might! I wonder if health kit will work better with apple watch, when comes out?
I like the Jawbone. For me it didn't matter which one I use, so long as it is the same one my brother uses. We prod each other to do more. It has also been helpful in showing the docs my sleep patterns. Not that they really listen.
I like the Apple watch concept, but it's too big--the fitbit and Jawbone would work great at the gym, the Apple watch, not so much.
