Drove the MINI today. First time in 10 days. It only hurts to open the door, close the door, shift, steer right, steer left, downshift, turn and hit a bump. Otherwise it was awesome.

Not going to drive much over the next few weeks I see...

    Routine Dr Appt today...

New A1C test, down again from 5.4 to 5.3. Base levels of daily insulin injections have been reduced...again...

Have a referral for Aquatic Therapy now. I can start using the warm water pool to facilitate recovery from the broken ribs.

That is great news. Just had my level go down from 5.4 to 5.1 with some big diet changes also.

Just remember to try and not fart while in the pool with the therapist, they apparently don't like it.

Thinking of you Nathan! When this passes, swimming is an amazing workout for your routine as you know already know. The lack of impact on your body, you can swim at 120 years old. We should all add that to our routines....

    Yeah.....

And the best thing.... You can blame all those 120 years old age wrinkles on being in the pool too long....:D

Not going to be swimming with any 120 year olds...Too many randomly placed warmed spots and occasional Baby Ruth bars floating around for my liking.

Follow-up with the Trauma Surgeon today.

Got the OK to get back to working out. Was told to watch it with the weights and then when it it hurts, stop.

Also gave me a script for more percocet, even though I didn't ask. He said it's for those days when I don't stop soon enough.

Now for that delicate balance of pushing myself but not too much.

If I were you I would start with just trying to edge back up on general activity level. If you're tempted to do a lot, start with a lot of whatever is easy and gets you moving without stressing the bits that still hurt. E.g., walking, etc, little to no weights or anything else that stresses the torso at first and work back up to that sort of thing.

Figure skating, in spandex while eating a donut....Rumor is, there was a momentary breakdown in discipline, and the broken ribs was the end result.
