Little more info. 42k, and the engine seems to be running fine. No sputters, misses or weird noises.

Welcome! What area do you live in? There are several good MINI specialists out there. Check out the vendor section. If you are under warranty though, you can save the vendors for fun stuff. Can't help on the leak but I would get the CEL checked out soon. Even if things seem fine bad things could be happening.

Welcome to M/A.....
I assume you are talking about the smaller tube connecting to the port on the valve cover?
That would be one of the rigid hoses leading to the intake. It's part of the PCV system (it conducts oily fumes out of the valve cover, so thats the oil leak). There is a plastic flex ring around the fitting against the valve cover. Squeeze it with your forefinger and thumb. It can be tricky to get off. just squeeze it and give it a wiggle and it will pull off in the direction towards the firewall. There is a "O" ring seal that might have gone bad.... Or maybe the hose was removed sometime in the past and wasn't installed correctly. You should feel a solid snap when it is properly reconnected. It could also be the reason you have a cel warning.
I think the hose runs something like $60.00 or so..... And a second suggestion, don't buy it from the dealer, order it from one of our very fine sponsors.... -
yup, if there is oil leaking from there you would probably also have a vacuum leak causing the CEL.

Welcome, Vail nice! If you get pressed for service work bring your MINI down to PEAK Eurosport in NW Denver Kipling and I70 area.
Schomp MINI actually is very good at repair on the MINIs, hourly is $125 per, but they will work with you. Justin Brown is the service manager and is not an old car dog.
Remember to stop by MITM in WP this summer, come over and introduce yourself.
Of course, if you want join the MINI5280, we drive up your way off and on. Some of our members are in Grand Junction and the West Slope.
I do know we will be in Vail area in September with one of our big yearly events.
Good advice from the experts, get that leak fixed.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Actually got a better look in daylight today and you are right... The valve cover needs a new gasket.
Dan, definitely let me know when the time comes closer... Would be interested in bringing both to the event. Looking at a third tomorrow as well, so we might be a little overboard with Minis by then!
Also, got the code pulled. It read 'super knock'. We searched for awhile and couldn't find any info... Cleared it and it has been running fine since. Getting it into the shop next week either way to fix the gasket and give a better look over. Will post a pic of it here soon.
