I like that. I'm going to have to use the line about "park strategically". Well done. As far as another MINI, not looking too hopeful. My wife feels more comfy riding 'above' the traffic. We've been looking at an Element but every time I get in one I bash my knee/shins under the glovebox. Oh well we have a couple more years left in the 4Runner so I still have time to convince her to get a MINI
Deliver her to the front door + find the right parking spot way out in the lot = less time to be cooped up shopping Works like a charm!
My wife has to park in a severely cramped parking garage. Every morning I get a text message with the make, model, color, and license plate of every car around her just in case one of them decides to door the MINI.
I know this is a little OT, but you started it! This statement seems so odd to me. I've had an Element for a few years now I've never had this happen once! Hmmm, maybe there's something different about the passenger side...might have to check that...
I got a lecture the other day about being too fast off the line. From a traffic light, I had to goose it in order to merge in front of a car before my lane ended. My wife of course was not impressed. I told her I wasn't even doing 50 yet, but then she started in about the laws of physics and acceleration and how I could be technically going over the speedlimit, etc, etc. Whatever...
I always claim the speedometer doesn't read accurately from the passenger seat due to the different angle, and it always reads 10% too high. I don't think my wife and kids believe me though.
Mine only reads in KMs, so down here nobody has a clue how fast I'm going:lol: But I do notice that they tend to hang on to whatever they can at 120:devil: Mark
Last night when I went to hockey there were lots of parking spots so I took up two by parking in the middle of two spots. I normally don't do that unless there's plenty. I also do it in the far corner of the lot somewhere. When I came out at 11:00pm there were even fewer cars out, but I noticed waaay in the corner, all by itself was another MINI. Obviously I'm not the only one out here who appreciates a lonely parking stall
I'm sorry but this REALLY P's me off when I see some arrogant SOB taking up two parking spaces....and then I think of this movie I saw where a lady got so p'd off she left a note, and the next thing you know, these kids are trying to kill her, lol. But seriously...what happens when the lot fills up while you're gone and your car is spotted as taking up two spots?? I'd be worried about it the whole time.
Richard is from California, he does not know how deserted local hockey arena parking lots are late at night Nobody goes to watch old guys play hockey:lol: Mark
Oh. I was just venting..happened to me a few nights ago.. couldn't find a parking spot, and some idiot took up two..lol.
I understand how that could cause one to vent. Now if it had of been at a Curling rink during a bonspeil.... Mark
Bang on Mark. Not even my wife comes to watch :cryin: Richard I'm VERY mindful of NEVER taking double spots unless there's at least 33% of the parking lot vacant, and when I do its at the farthest reaches. I run our league of 33 teams so there's probably 400+ guys who know it's Rixter's MINI, the last thing I want to do is come across as the Grand Pooba
Curling is the only sport:confused5: that used to allowing smoking on the playing area, and in most small towns still allows drinking. Mark
