The local Subie group set up a tour of Mike Shank Racing in Feb and they invited me to go along. That will be a fun visit.
Daytona MINI Corral and Hospitality Patio The facility map for the Rolex 24 weekend. Right below the orange Lot 1 marker is the location of the MINI Car Corral - adjacent to the Lamborghini Car Corral. Not too bad a neighborhood. Along pit road is a red marker with a yellow SI inside. The MINI Hospitality Patio is in this area. Should be an amazing weekend of racing and partying.
Daytona Hospitality Update More information on the MINI Hospitality plans for the Daytona Rolex 24 Hours has been made available and is posted below. Looks like it will be a most enjoyable weekend of racing. MINI USA will be providing a full menu on race day, Friday January 29th, beginning with a Continental Breakfast at 9:00AM. On Saturday there will be Chips and Dip served at 2:00PM and Meatball Sliders at 6:00PM. On Sunday at 9:00AM a Continental Breakfast will be served and at 11:00AM there will be Buffalo Wings served. Soft Beverages will be served all three days. Meet and Greet with the team is scheduled for 10:30AM on Friday in the garage area. (pending the availability of the drivers, this time could change)
Anyone know where I can find the entry list for the 24 and the Conti race? I've checked the IMSA site but can't find it, the only thing worthwhile there is the schedule.
Entry List for Daytona The IMSA website is filled with flowery-written articles, but little hard data. During the Roar, their app had practice times listed. But, after the next practice began, the previous practice time list was deleted. Now, there are no practice results from the Roar on the IMSA site. I did find entry lists for the Roar Before the 24. All of those cars should be back and additional cars that did not make the Roar practice session. The MINI team brought 2 cars for the Roar, but are bringing 3 cars for the race. Just one week to the Daytona 24H! The broadcast is split between Fox Sports 1 and 2, with a 9-hour block from 10PM-7AM (E) on IMSA.com. I'm guessing (and hoping :fingerscrossed the whole 24 hours may be available via streaming on IMSA.com like it was for all the races last year but I can't find that addressed anywhere. Won't be a surprise to me if it is, they never mentioned it last year either. I'm guessing they didn't want to advertise an alternative to pay tv. Mazda Team Mazda has done a lot of work on their protype cars. Their practice times were often in the top three cars. Above is a photo of the Mazda garage at the Daytona Roar Before the 24. Immaculate and well set up. Shows much attention to detail. Quite impressive for a garage area that you will only use for 3 days then tear down and transport back home. The level of preparation by many of the prototype teams appeared to be of the highest quality and fast times were posted by a large number of teams. Honda had the fastest time at the Roar. Should be an interesting race. On the topic of Daytona - The MINI Corral and Hospitality Patio still has tickets remaining. Can't believe that more MINI enthusiasts have not taken advantage of this opportunity to enjoy this race.

I am so excited. The weather is looking great for the races. I'm leaving Wednesday but feel like just blowing out of here tomorrow.
Experiencing the Daytona 24 Hours Steve, You need to put the Daytona 24 Hours on your Must Do list. It is one of the most storied international races and it is right here in the old USA. This year will be special - the 50th anniversary of the race, the inaugural race for the new Ford GT, the new BMW M6, competitive prototype cars from Honda and Mazda, first race in IMSA for the Lamborghini, 3 JCW MINIs in the Continental race, and the MINI Corral and Hospitality Patio. Weather forecasts call for high temperatures for the weekend to be in the high 60's. It will be a great weekend of racing creating life-long memories. You should look at future years calendars and try to block out the last weekend in January for a trip to Florida. Will post some photos of the race.

The Continental race this Fri won't be broadcast until 13 Feb (8:30am Eastern on FS1) but it looks like it will be available live via stream at IMSA.com.
