Interesting to see GTD is just 1 car shy of being half the field; 27 of 55 total.

The bastidges cut the feed to IMSAtv.com.
rrr: My guess is they noticed too many taking advantage of the streaming there and not paying to watch on foxsportsgo.

For those interested, you can still watch a few onboards free at IMSAtv. Just click one of the buttons below the graphic that says you need to go to Fox or foxsportsgo.

Probably wasn't enough Jeff Gordon coverage on IMSATV.
Fox has certainly loaded up the commercials...oy. -

Speaking of Gordon, gotta love this headline  :

I liked (not) at the end of the race Fox went to talk to Gordon first instead of the brothers or Max.
Overall it was a good race. I'm looking forward to a great season. -

Ricky Taylor was off trying to compose himself. On live TV all they could do was grab Gordon, because he was the only one available at the time. When they did finally find him he was still full of emotions. I can't imagine how he felt, but I'm sure he was waiting for the penalty from IMSA.
Hats off to IMSA for not calling a penalty for a racing incident. In hard racing that kind of thing happens.
I wonder how many folks are out buying Cadillac's today. -

It was great to hear Memo Gidley interviewed during the IMSAtv/RLM broadcast. Thinks he's ready to start racing again.
Did he make it onto the Fox broadcast too? -

That was fast! They already put up the race on YT. I haven't watched it all yet but I think it's all the IMSAtv version so no Fox commentary team.
Qualifying first, then the full race in three parts. (I don't imagine they'll upload the Conti race until after it's been broadcast)

The Conti race from Daytona will be on FS1 this Sun.

Well, I just finished watching all 24 hours, it took me some time but was well worth it. That last hour couldn't have been any closer.
The GTLM was the best. -

Maybe it's just me but should Porsche have the cars labeled as Caymans instead of 911. There isn't a mid engine 911 and the not one in the next generation either. Some equate it to Ford running the GT last year but they are selling the car now in that configuration. The announcers in the last race were dancing around it trying not to say it was actually a mid engine, with the engine in front of the drive train. Instead stating that it was moved forward. They were right, it was moved forward, in front of the drive train.
With that thinking Chevy could be running their mid engine Corvette. -

From what I have seen it sure is a mid-engine car. Makes me wonder how much money Porsche paid to IMSA to not notice that fact.

If I remember correctly, it's a GTS homologation thing, and IMSA specifically allow GTS homologation for the GTLM class. I think the ACO (?) intentionally opened up some of the rules for GTS to ... I don't know, maybe to allow more innovation? It's not even like Porsche found a loophole, they just took advantage of a rule rewritten specifically to allow more flexibility in terms of engine placement. If I were a true cynic I might wonder who lobbied for that particular rule change, but that's different topic.
It's curious, though, that it's completely legal (assuming it is) yet Porsche and everyone associated with the various series' are constantly inventing alternative terms to avoid calling a mid-engined car a mid-engined car. -

IMSA allows the car to have either a "front" engine or "rear" engine. Regardless of location to axles.
