    But the idea (as the announcers of the 24 kept saying) is to have a production based car so that people can go buy something like it. So that will be the GTD class but not for manufactures to be in. I know the GTLM cars aren't anything like you could buy but it would be nice if the cars would have to at least have the same architecture. So either a 911 RSR would have to rear engine or Porsche would have to sell a mid engine version. It would be like a junior Porsche GT.

    So you can put the engine anywhere you want under the "optimize position" rule. This could lead to some interesting race cars and become more interesting than the prototypes.

    That rule change feels like creeping back toward GT1, which of course is both good and bad...mostly bad IMO.

    On the plus side, GT3 and GT4 are great classes; if GTE turns into a new version of GT1 and eats itself alive I might not miss it...much.

    Meet & Greet the MINI JCW Team at Sebring

    Sebring Race Fan Hospitality

    Come cheer the MINI JCW Race Team in action when they defend their title in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race on March 17th at Sebring International Raceway.

    The MINI JCW Team will host fans in their paddock, located in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge section at Sebring Raceway on March 17th at 11:30AM. The ‘Meet and Greet’ will offer one-on-one opportunities with the drivers and crew of the MINI JCW Team. Fans will get to see our race prepped cars up close before they head out to the starting grid.

    Attendees who register at the paddock on Thursday or Friday with a MINI rep, will receive a chance to win a hot lap prior to the race or a hot pit tour, organized by IMSA.
