The Continental race at Daytona is well underway, with 1h45m left to run. Live streaming here: https://imsatv.imsa.com/
What a ridiculous mess. I give them credit for arranging to cover the entire race without any gaps (that is, assuming they don't cut in somewhere along the line) but why spread it around like that?
Someone pointed out that a rear view of a Ford GT looks like the bottom half of the car is missing... Anyone else see it?
I'm sure that's the missing rear bodywork. It's a great pic though because what's missing is the bodywork that surrounds the diffuser and getting to see it on its own shows just how huge and deep that diffuser is. But credit to the guy who said it always looks like half the car -- the bottom half -- is missing, even with that chunk of bodywork in place the diffuser takes up so much space that I agree with him.
I take it back. I think that's just what it looks like when you remove the rear wheels/tires and can clearly see that there is, indeed, no bodywork surrounding the diffuser.
Some might find this interesting. It's an in-cabin video feed from the #23 prototype, but apparently it's only live when Fernando Alonso is driving. (oh yeah, I should warn you social media abstainers that this is on Facebook) https://t.co/LWvc9N3nZt
