$100.... Wow.... Some claim it adds HP (see ad)... Some claim it doesn't....
Ummmm... Why not make your own.... Simple $10 length of SS tubing with the stock hose clamps put back on.... If it does or doesn't add HP.... One thing for sure.... The $90 can go towards something else....

Where would I buy some SS tubing?

I've read that the intake muffler delete adds no horsepower, just a little more noise.

So extra noise, no extra oomph and money spent? Is there even a valid reason to do this? Does it at least give a touch of extra throttle response? Not trying to knock anyone here, just curious.

For some folks noise = horsepower.

Here is the inside of the muffler... Pretty much 2" diameter from in to out.... But see the little row of holes running down the length? Well that lets the sound and pressurized air expand into a larger chamber surrounding the 2" tube....
Soooo... In effect it would be like walking down a narrow hallway and then entering a large gymnasium... Walking through the gymnasium and then exiting out a smaller hallway on the other side of the room.... Now if you were pressurized air from the turbo entering the muffler... there would be some dwell time required to bring the larger cubic inch chamber up to pressure.... If that extra volume wasn't a part of the plumbing, it would stand to reason that there would be some performance benefit....
Crisper throttle response... Probably... -

So a small benefit, but not like the 500 hp gain from a giant "R" sticker, lol!
Joking aside, a little extra cheap throttle response is always nice. And on the plus side, other than cheap, its just a SS pipe, so it cant fail. -

That little pipe also adds moar room in the engine compartment.... Have you really looked.... There is a lot of stuff crammed in there....

Its a little cramped in there for sure. Well, I'm going to go home and steal the sink drain!!
I think my fiance would stab me if I did that, lol. -
I deleted mine on my JCW coupe N14 engine. Could not tell a difference really but it was heavily modded so who knows. It certainly cat hurt. Interesting enough while looking into the engine compartment of a 2013 N18 engine I could not find this turbo muffler at all. Perhaps MINI finally decided it was a waste of space....which it is.

I did the muffler delete on my 2012 ALL4S CM and there was no increase in noise that I could hear. I do not have any type of CAI though. I do however feel a bit better throttle response from a stop. I also noticed and this was surprising 2 MPG increase on the highway. I regularly drive from Pittsburgh to Columbus on the same roads and at the same speeds and use the same gas ( Exon 93) all the time so I cant explain it any other way.

Made no noticeable difference in my car.....I also removed the "noisemaker", cause I never heard it make a sound either.
There must be a reason it's there, a harmonic frequency or something, bit I'm darned if I can tell what it is. -
I attempted to do this. I got the VIP Custom Parts one. It's not as cheap as buying your own pipe from Home Depot but for $39 its good.
Install is much harder than I thought. I can't get the muffler part out. And dropped my tools. -
this was the most WORTHLESS mod I ever did, about killed me to get one bolt out to remove and hear nothing, felt nothing but frustration of losing 3 hourss Of agony I can't get back.
Oh if you want to buy a SS pipe to do this mod, free just pay shipping and don't try and kill me for selling it to you.
