    Probably works...

stock IC isn't that great and is partially blocked. Cheap and easy efficiency improvement.

    matt,

in your opinion, improve efficiency of stock or go aftermarket (forge or helix)?

In other words I can improve efficiency of stock for $200 or install 3rd party for about $700. Is the $500 delta worth it?

    I haven't logged any data

to be able to give a definite answer, so I don't know.

Only data point I have is that the Mini engineering dept says the R56 stock IC is, uh, lacking.

But $500 is a lot of delta! That's for sure...

On NAM I saw a brand new aftermarket R56 IC for sale in the marketplace. Might be worth a look.

Save your money and put it towards the Forge IC, we have been getting GREAT gains with it. Long run you'll be happier, plus I've seen 40+deg drops with the bigger IC.

    So there you go!

looks like the stock unit is lacking a whole lot!

Going with an aftermarket IC is completely worth it.

The Helix FMIC is $580 I believe, and its worth every penny. Save your $200 for the IC air diverter and put it towards a proper IC!
