I do believe that "nut" in there is called a Coupling Nut

If you can't find the replacement mounting pieces try a nutcert or speed nut. Usually nutcerts need to be pressed in, you could do it with a wide punch and hammer. I've also seen some that squeeze in like a rivet, but those might be too small.
